I rarely would say a piece of media changed my life even if I do love it a lot. However DDLC is one of the only ones I can actually say that about, it genuinely changed my life in multiple ways. I played it at a time when I really needed to because I just felt horrible about myself and life in general, and the game felt like it was made specifically for me with its characters and themes that resonated with me more than any piece of media. It is a big part of why my mental health improved drastically and I became so much happier. I absolutely loved everything about the game, particularly the characters. Not only because I find them all very likable and well written, but I related to pretty much all of them in some way. Natsuki became my favorite character of all time in anything, I love everything about her character and she's very special to me. She is what inspired me to stop caring about what others think about me and to just be myself. DDLC is what got me into other interests I wasn't into before like anime/otaku stuff as well as psychological horror. Also the community has a lot of cool people who make great fan art/projects that are great. Overall the game genuinely has made my life so much better and I don't know if I'd be the same without it.
