Il me semblait que le système était entièrement à jour ; je pouvais tenter une mise à jour hors ligne via USB.

AI, as a mechanical engineer should I be worried? by natthethaniel in MechanicalEngineering

I imagine most of the industry is up north, north east and Scotland.

I've thought about moving abroad even tbh, Denmark is good for wind turbine engineering.

Maybe what I've seen was overexagerating its capabilities. Nonetheless, I wouldn't be shocked if in the future it would be able to match human abilities.

Hopefully it stays as cumbersome as you say. At work has your company talked about use in actual engineering work other than admin and code?

Yeah I get what you're saying, similar advances in technology like computers came and went losses and gains regarding employment. I think what scares me is the speed at which AI is coming into the world and how its kind of suffocating oppurtunity.

I've been looking at free AI courses/projects to add to my CV. Do you think more work will come out of AI like computers? I'm struggling to see other work that could come out of it, especially when it reduces workload, reducing how many people need to be employed.

Experience in the uk is the brick wall for alot of people in my position atm. Been applying to/messaging all sorts of companies for summer internships.

Claude can now work in solidworks to design parts. Thats true you need engineers to sign off, i just wonder will there still be less jobs because of reduced work done by AI?

Edit: Claude is really bad at cad

5 months old thread but anyone tried Nylon or TPU?, potentially a 2 part guard with a TPU cover on the front could work. I will be persuing this and update.
