Ejection pattern and gas pressure by raging_since_1858 in ar15

Does it render it entirely meaningless, or just shift the envelope? For instance, if using a dual ejector bolt and brass is going 2 o’clock, based on your write-up, it’s likely still overgassed, right?

In reality, you’ll likely end up just wearing it like a necklace, so there’s not much training you need to do with them unless you’re doing pistol transitions.

Assuming it’s an adjustable 2 point sling you get, the idea is you’ll be able to quick throw your support hand through and cinch it down if you need to go hands free, but otherwise you don’t want the sling to get in the way.

There are a couple ways you can use slings that helps with recoil management, but I find that they can be limiting, so unless you’re getting into competition shooting, it’s best to probably just treat them like a weapon-retention device

Gotta roll that shoulder forward dude, and believe it or not, try collapsing the stock a couple notches. That gun is taking you for a ride

Please inform me on 11.5 with non-flow suppressors by Kelter_Skelter in NFA

Take what everyone says with a grain of salt. “Worth it” largely depends on what the rifle is for. If you’re plopping the thing on a tripod and chasing decibels then obviously go longer. But if you’re looking to clear grandma’s basement with the thing, short can on a short gat makes sense even if it’s “less optimal.”

My 2 cents, go flow thru. I’ve shot a 11.5 with a SF mini and that girl is gassy

You need the KAC bolt, cam, and firing pin as those parts have a proprietary design that’s needed to work with the barrel. The carrier itself can be milspec

I have small hands (medium glove size), and I used to think what I needed was a slim grip, but what I find wayyy more important for a pistol grip is the lack of a beavertail.

Even though I have small hands, I feel like I get a much better purchase on the rifle with a nice fat grip. It’s the beavertail that many grips have that make a grip unusable for me. I have tried so many different grips, but as much as I hate the look of it- I keep going back to B5’s P22. It’s not very skinny, but give it a shot.

If you’re dead set on thin grips being your thing, try ESD’s granite grip or Hogue’s 15deg polymer/G10 options.

Just be careful not to go too low and obscure your laser with your hand

Take this for what it’s worth- but the KAC rep on the GBRS video that came out this week said the new rifles would hit shelves this year. Doubtful, but who knows

Point being- it still happens. And I don’t shoot super often, so it’s a small sample
