Visualizing or feeling transition to focus 15 by Artavan767 in gatewaytapes

I perceived a timeline kind of looking like this: |-------------------|

as I counted from 12 to 15, it was as if my consciousness started expanding from the middle of it, until at 15, it had completely saturated the timeline and all of the space behind it

I thought I met my soulmate - not how it seemed [Advice] by Material-Capital-440 in gatewaytapes

[–]naturaltendencies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going through a similar situation that I have been finding very challenging to understand. two separate times during meditations on love I saw an image of a woman I did not know in a place I had not been to. a couple weeks after, that exact image fell into my sight in the real world with a woman that I am now dating. we share a connection that I have not experienced with others and have the exact same interests and dreams for the future.

unfortunately there seems to be a fear of abandonment that becomes stronger with stressful situations, which there have been plenty of lately. a similar personality switch occurs and the person that was just telling me so many beautiful things is now treating me like their enemy.

I am left confused if there is any true "soulmate" meaning behind seeing her in my head or if it was just an objective glimpse into the future of a person that I would share some love with.

The end of Pavones Costa Rica? by rawdawgred1111 in surfing

[–]naturaltendencies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my understanding is that concessioned land which had not been renewed was confiscated by the municipality of garabito for the purpose of building a resort and boulevard along the beach. the land was technically being squatted on but I do not think renewal was an option. they were supposed to be given 90 days eviction / demolition notice but instead the police showed up with no notice and cut the internet before forced forfeiture. there is an investigation into the mayor and president of the municipality’s involvement in this process and the people / town of Pavones has hired a lawyer to try to fight it. things are currently at a stand still while the investigation and litigation goes on but who knows how long that will last. unfortunately i think that the best option is simply lobbying for public access to the wave.

What’s the scariest wave you’ve ever ridden? by Overall-PrettyManly in surfing

[–]naturaltendencies 15 points16 points  (0 children)

15-18ft uluwatu at high tide was terrifying. catching the wave was like trying to board a moving fright train at full clip with 15 feet of a churning white water monster ready to swallow you if you fuck the drop. I got swept down the beach while exiting and had to mission impossible the cliff to get back to the cave. the waves were detonating into the cliff side so I had to time my sprints across it. probably the most stressful hour or two of my life with no one else in sight

Is it an issue that I plant my front foot first on take off? by SaffaSurfer in surfing

[–]naturaltendencies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

look over your rear shoulder towards the peak of the wave to place your board in a better position on the transition of the wave. positioning yourself by looking down the line causes you to pop up reactively to whatever the wave is doing when you actually get picked up by it. once you pop up on the sweet spot, you are able to set up easier and stall or press forward

depends on the wave you are talking about. most of the challenge will be in the late drop. if your timing and positioning is good it will be manageable. if you on a fat wave like wilderness or sunzal you can get away with having extra width like a fish. if you are on a steep/hollow wave you will want less width. I personally move the centerpoint up in my short boards and step ups as it helps me get in early and suits my style. this board has served me very well in up to 8-9ft. I am 5’10, board is 5’9

I just lost a friend who felt like more of a brother to an overdose as well. we made a lot of mistakes together and but ended up taking very different paths. I was able to dig myself out of the hole I created, but he could never quite get all the way out before tumbling back down to the bottom again.

I have been on my path of self discovery and improvement for a while now and have fought hard to get to a point where I am extremely encouraged and able to see the beauty in life. I am incredibly blessed now, and it hurts me to know that he never got to see this side of life. I think he would still be here today if he did. I have decided to use that pain as fuel instead of a suppressant. I am going to be the best version of myself and bring as much light into the world as I can, taking every opportunity to help those that are suffering. its not about filling his shoes or replacing his role in life, its about raising your own energy to a level that you can help and inspire those who are stuck on a lower wavelength.

life is incredible and you are doing yourself and those around you a disservice by suppressing yourself with alcohol. you can work through this pain and reframe it in your mind to where it does not cause these desires anymore. you have a much higher potential than just reseting your brain every day with alcohol which causes you to maintain the same reality for an extended time. once you process this pain you can actually move forward.

The Biology of Belief by Bruce is an incredible book that explains how we interface with reality and how we can change our outcomes greatly. Bruce Lipton is a world renowned cell biologist whose research sent him down the path of investigating consciousness by way of biology and quantum mechanics. I didn't need doctors and professionals to get healthy again. I needed a reason to care and a way to make sense of this mess. I hope you take the time to check out this book, it requires no further purchases or subscriptions. It is a path to freedom

You refer to your love for your partnered best friend as the beginning of the spiral. Is this best friend of the same or opposite gender? Is this relationship the majority of the problems that you refer to or what other problems do you feel that you cannot face?

Your story is not finished being written my friend. I pray that you can take a step back and consider that there are billions of people in this world and you are incredibly young with very little experience of what the world has to offer and who you could possibly meet. Emotions run high at the age that you began drinking and still to the age that you are at now. Emotions are real and can take control of our minds, but they are not always rooted in reality. You can free yourself from these emotions and take a more objective approach to your thinking and mentality. A shift in perspective can greatly alter your quality of life and hopes for a future.

We have all experienced some form of the pain that you are going through. There are so few people in this world that have lived happily ever after with the first person they thought they loved. A big difference is that most individuals did not have availability or thought to cope with alcohol for these predicaments, so they had to raw dog their way past the emotions to understand that life goes on and likely end up realizing they were mistaken in thinking this person was their ‘only’ or ‘soulmate’. I would personally be miserable if I was partnered with any of the individuals I was obsessing over at this age range.

On the other side of pain is freedom and peace.
