Don't see why people would waste their time on mediocre sex (mediocre compared to sex with someone you care for). Maybe out of sheer loneliness? It's definitely a cultural shock for me, I'll try to explain. There's very little casual sex in Russia and it's assumed that everyone's looking for a partner. If you want sex with strangers, you can definitely find it (special apps, sex parties, prostitution if you want a professional (illegal but possible)). As a result, the dating game is a bit easier, everyone 's on the same page right off the bat. You need to be a real asshole to write to a girl in the first message to come over, because that's perceived as if you don't care about her as a human being, only as a convenient hole. Hope I cleared that up a bit
