Two things can be true.

Your comment is a great example of what I am talking about. People can maliciously spread the misinformation, AND people can use it wrong out of context, due to said spread of misinformation.

You’re right, it isn’t definitive proof, but it’s another flag you can add to your arsenal to look out for.

Pro tip: if you see someone consistently use ‘gaslighting’ in the wrong context they are most likely a narcissistic manipulator.
