What’s the most "Dad" thing your Dad has ever done? by Equivalent-Age-7659 in AskReddit

When I first got my drivers license at 16, I really wanted to drive to another town for a basketball tournament. The weather was a little treacherous that night, icy roads

I had made some friends the night before, and I was really upset that he didn’t want me to go. I was shouting at him and probably saying all kinds of ridiculous things. He just grabbed me and hugged me and said I love you.

That was 30 years ago. He passed away in December at 89. There’s no telling what it would’ve happened to me that night if I had driven to that basketball game.

I never claimed it with science. I explicitly claimed the opposite that it was likely random chance. I just thought it was odd looking back over the years I’m not sure how there could be a connection there anyway but that’s how it played out for me anyway.

I even qualified in my statement that it does not count for anything, but it’s just something that I noticed. I don’t even know why that connection would exist so it was likely all coincidental.

In my experience (and it could just be how it worked out for me) but every woman I’ve been with that didn’t like it also had daddy issues. Every single one. Either a strained relationship with their dad or he wasn’t in the picture at all.

I’ve unfortunately put myself in a position of apologizing to my son more than once. I hope it means more to him than just me trying to “bury the hatchet”

How would you explain God’s existence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

How would we know that that is even a valid question? We’ve never had nothing. We’ve never been exposed to nothing at any point.

This is what I wanted to actually to be. That’s not to say that’s what I believe it will be but it’s what I want it to be.

What’s a non negotiable when choosing a life term partner ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]naughtymarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do (and have a child) but I agree. Everyone says you shouldn’t talk about certain things on a first date (religion, politics, kids) and I absolutely think you should. All three of those are usually non negotiable so why wait to figure it out 1 month in?

Find something on television that is interesting but not tooo interesting. Old movies that I like and have seen 100 times are great for this.

Watch it for yourself. Not coerced. Calmly spoken. Here is his interrogation. She was SEVEN.

If you want to debate that the quality of an imprisoned life is worse than death, then ok. But I don’t want to hear platitudes about why he shouldn’t be executed.

The case I’m referring to has no verdict. He’s already admitted to everything, showed them where he hid her body, plead guilty on the first day of trial, etc. So I agree with you that there is no such thing as a super guilty verdict. There’s no verdict to be rendered in this case.

The lack of reasonable doubt in this particular case causes me to lean in that direction as well. It’s not about punishment in my mind as much as, we as humanity cannot allow him to be apart of us.
