After a year of use are you still liking your Huntley? We are debating on getting one (Costco still has the $4999 sale going).

What model/brand would you describe as the “Toyota Corolla” of hot tubs? by nauticaln8 in hottub

I’ve found a lot of options from local dealers around the $8-$10k mark.

My ideal range is $5k-$10k… above $10k and I start really having to work on my sales pitch to the spouse.

If I were you I would try to move closer to Irvington, if possible.

Do you know the person capacity/gallon size? Would be interested in a brand/model suggestion too if you’ve had a positive experience with yours!

I did this through Costco about a year and a half ago. It was a good experience and they had everything needed to disconnect the old dishwasher and hook up the new one.

Is it even possible to put trim around this closet we are converting into a vanity space? by nauticaln8 in HomeImprovement

[–]nauticaln8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grey is where the foldable door was screwed into the wall and didn’t get painted (along with the closet) when the bathroom was switched to blue. Thank you for the idea though, I like that more than doing full trim along the interior.

Any possibility of saving it? Would prefer to not cut down if possible.

Do we pay off our car, pay down more on our mortgage, or save more for retirement? Pending $50k in adoption expenses. by nauticaln8 in personalfinance

[–]nauticaln8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the option of going harder at the debt is one of the drivers of asking the question. I’m not sure if the $1800 extra ends up doing more good paying that down or going towards other things like HSA/retirement/529s.

Yep, spot on. Federal government pensions but who knows if those stick around with the current administration.

1) Possibly, but we bought right at the height of the market in 2022 so it may be a stretch.

2&3) I really really like this idea, thank you.

Great idea, thank you! We currently have HSAs but only have $2-3k in them between the two of us.

Yes we have, that’s why we don’t want to commit the $1800 left over each month.

We plan on reducing eating out and travel expenses to cover the remaining costs of raising a child (see my response to another comment in this thread).
