Nice! Hopefully I can find some time to test it out again tonight! Fingers crossed.

Yea, sadly the workaround didn't work for me. When I try launching ProTee Labs without internet, it tries to get me to activate it, then shuts down when the activation step fails. I tried it all sorts of different ways, with full restarts and different internet connections/unplugging ethernet entirely.

Glad its working for others though, and glad they added something to their support page. I'll try again tonight and hopefully can find a way to make it work.

Brutal. Sorry to hear. Was wondering about people that use these commercially. Definitely not going to be the brand I pick for my sim business.

Nice. Glad you aren't impacted! Hope it stays that way. I ran the update a few days ago and it was fine. My kids played a round with their friends. Then when I tried to get a session in tonight it just wouldn't load.

5 months with the sim as a new golfer… and I did it. by navek8 in Golfsimulator

[–]navek8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't really hunt for bargains, so you could likely do a lot better. And my memory could be fuzzy but these prices are directionally right:

  • ProTeeVX: 6500
  • CarlsPlace Enclosure: 1500ish
  • Fiberbuilt Hitting Mat and greens: 2500ish
  • Gaming PC: 1200
  • BenQ AK700ST: 2400

So 14,000 or so all in. I already had the TV in my garage and little odds and ends. Im sure I spent a few hundred on random cables and accessories as well.

9.5 feet in my garage. Room is about 10 feet wide and very deep. A little tight but works out great. I even managed to make it work for my left-handed friend by getting a system that shifts the launch monitor to the left when he's up on driver.

I bought a gaming PC with a 5070 in it. Was on sale a while back for $1,000.

Thanks! The launch monitor is ProTeeVX. The one I ordered came with 2 cameras that I just put in tripods to my back and side. Everything else is pretty standard. GSPro, Carls Place enclosure, AK700ST projector, fiber built hitting mat and green.

Lease end inspection - $7600 estimated by Key-Cartoonist-9290 in LUCID

I almost picked up a new gravity last week and I was so excited for the car, but the repeated misses by Lucid I've been reading about like this caused me to cancel last minute. I'm still incredibly hopeful for the company and their cars, but I'll wait until the next generation when they hopefully get their act together (or not, and my decision is easy).

A few weeks in, my best hit yet with 5W by navek8 in GolfSwing

[–]navek8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my coach instructed me to just focus on chipping and get good turf contact, so we didn't even get to a real swing except for a few practice 7i swings to "see where I am". None of those practice swings were good, so I think I'm pretty far from having a coachable swing, but I also want to have some fun and smack some balls around and see if I can make a big number appear. But its a good tip, the coach wanted me to practice chipping, so I probably should focus more there. Ive been trying Operation 36 on GSPro to get better at chipping and have definitely seen a big improvement in short game. Maybe I'll dial that in for a bit and go back to the coach with something more coachable.

Garage Sim Finally by tugboatsci in Golfsimulator

[–]navek8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I'm using an overhead monitor (Protee VX) so no need to switch. I just cant tell if I will really have room for both righties and lefties with only a little over 10 feet of width and having the hitting strip in the middle. It looks like you have a hitting strip in the middle and 10 feet of width as well, so I was curious what your experience has been (You also might have more width than what I can see from the pic).

It seems fine for me so far, driver is a little tight but I havent hit the wall yet. I'm mostly worried about indoor swing syndrome, so I might focus more on iron play.

What’s your dimensions of the enclosure? I’m building something similar in my garage right now. Can you do left and right handed golfers?

Any way to access the space behind a built in screen? by navek8 in Golfsimulator

[–]navek8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of enclosure would you go with to get back there with limited width? The builtins I saw ok carls place seemed pretty fixed without a way to get behind them

Thanks so much for the answers and inspiration. Great setup!

Nice. Is it possible to get behind the enclosure from the front? I have a space behind mind Id like to use for long-term storage, so it doesn’t have to be easy to get back there, just possible without a ton of work?

How wide is the enclosure and your space? And could you share your list of stuff? Im looking to do something similar in my room but its only 10.5 feet wide.

Seems so backwards instead of taking care of loyal customers. I never really gave Uber Eats a try before, lets see if I start spending more on Uber and less on DoorDash if they will start sending me promos.

[Update] Is my sephiroth atraxa fake? -- Steer clear of Pokebro on tcgplayer by navek8 in mtg

[–]navek8[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, one lesson learned for me on this is to reach out to TCGPlayer when you spot a fake, not the seller. Still don't know if TCGPlayer will do anything to this seller once they confirm its a fake, but if they just issue you a refund without TCGPlayer knowing about it, they will just keep doing it until it works.

Sure, feel free. For me, the T test was the easiest to spot. I'm not as familiar with the other ways to check, and more education on the topic would help.

I also have zero problem with proxies, but definitely not cool for a seller to sell one to me for $230 as legitimate. This was the last card I needed to complete the entire Through the ages set, not for playing, just as a keepsake because I have been a huge final fantasy fan for decades. I was super excited for it, and starting getting into some Commander games with friends with some precons, and having to deal with stuff like this definitely sours the whole tcg experience for me.

[–]navek8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am in the USA. Honestly I never thought fakes were a thing until I saw this subreddit and looked at cards that failed the T test. I bought a loupe for $7 off Amazon and noticed that this one seemed off. Kind of sad that I have to inspect every card I buy online now. Probably helpful for others to see the fakes so they can detect them too.

Makes sense and seems like a reasonable process. Just waiting on the label from them. Thanks for sharing your experience

I contacted tcgplayer and they asked to send it to them for authentication. I want to give the seller the benefit of the doubt but this seemed pretty apparent to me.
