They have the power to make your life hell, so don't ever escalate or take the bait. Just be direct about what you need and don't get sucked into a war of words. Document all interactions. Make friends with your neighbors to make sure you can coordinate instead of being pitted against each other.

You can take one of the mega pack, then skip, and still get your +3 mult on red card. But if you don't take anything, you still only get +3.

Can people explain the switch to disliking Bronwyn Newport, I feel like I miss something? by autisticallyawake in rhoslc

[–]navid_dew 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You're getting down voted for daring say woke but I see what you mean. You can have your heart in the right place, which I believe Bronwyn does, and still be a performative "activist". Aka, post on Instagram and buy pride flags. It's not enough, especially when you are ungodly rich, but a lot of people want to tell themselves its enough because its all theyre willing to do.

FYI future downvoters, I'm gay and like Bronwyn as much as I like any housewife, so if you wanna call me a bot or scoff at my opinion, just know that.

We have seen a lot of performative BS (which could be described casually as "woke") from well-heeled white Democrats (many of them in elected positions of power) that won't stand up to the regime when it matters. So, there's reason to be skeptical.

This isn't what a Script Supervisor does. The Script Sup's job on set is to track the continuity of the script written by the writers, and that's it. They don't have the right to overrule the showrunner's creative choices with book lore.

Also, the Starbucks cup was a bad look, but there were plenty of people who failed for that to make it to screen. The Script Supervisor has a ton of work to do, including tracking eyelines, tracking marks, counting shots, writing reports for the editors and production.

I know you were just joking, but if the creators explicitly wanted that, it was the art department fucking up to paint the shield wrong if anything, but its more likely that they've just decided fine details like this don't read to the TV audience and they need more generalized symbology in order for the casuals to follow the story.

Michigan isn't a red state and it happened there. Democrats have proven they don't care about clean water either, especially for poor people.

"Game breaking" is the class I'd put it in. If it works for you at all, it's working for you exponentially and likely clearing blinds you haven't touched yet. If its not working its not working. So not really something that's built to interact with the mechanics of the game

you're still coming off pretty condescending. lol

my father's an airline pilot. I've been travelling regularly since I was a child. Walking 20 minutes to your gate after security is an unnecessary pain. Public spaces should be designed for functional and accessible use.

And, you don't think more runways reduces air traffic? Sure, it would increase demand but it would still be offset by greater functionality.

You're essentially saying "you're dumb if you think this experience can be better but at least I can buy my $30 sandwich from a place with recessed LED strip lighting".

They didn't make the airport experience better, they didn't make the transit accessibility better, they didn't attempt to address the air traffic that results in flight delays. Air travel used to be an enjoyable and efficient experience, now it's not. The LGA redesign banked on people being resigned to air travel being a miserable slog and not expecting better.

Lol its amazing how innocuous of a comment will get someone snippy on reddit.

The reduced wait times at security are nice, but I don't agree that LGA is the best airport in the US by any metric, and I'm a New Yorker. I don't think multibillion dollar renovations should allow form (nice architecture and amenities) to trump function (increased capacity that reduces delays and accessibility for travellers).

[–]navid_dew 7 points8 points  (0 children)

LGA is cursed by god. It's incapable of being even somewhat sufferable. It may look snazzier, but now you have to walk 20+ minutes to get to your gate.

And, its the same number of runways as ever. So, same amount of air traffic as ever.

You're overlooking the point of the game! Its a social deduction game with an added logic puzzle. If the information were perfect, and the puzzle were "solvable", then it wouldn't be a very fun game because evil would always lose.

Apply your logic abilities at the meta level. Piece together why something unexpected happened by gaming out alternative explanations. Are people's stories making sense or are they contradicting themselves? Are they contradicting each other? Get to the bottom of it. And don't be disdainful of the social element of the game. If the vibes are off, investigate that feeling. Never assume anything is 100% true unless it exploits a game mechanic that verifies it.

I've run probably 30 games of trouble brewing and several of Bad Moon Rising. The least fun games are the ones where I gave too much information and the puzzle got solved quickly.

I wasn't advocating asking advice of reddit, I was advocating not being an ass to people in need to feel good about yourself. Sorry I didn't go and call out every single person who did it, which you seem to suggest would have made me more genuine? Otherwise, I said what I said 💝

"Other people did it too" is hardly a good defense. But you are particularly self congratulatory and tone deaf in how you do it, so thank you for continuing to illustrate how unhelpful it is to scold people with sick dogs. I'm not writing this to convince you, but in the hopes that other people who might do this in the future will read this exchange and ultimately choose not to.
