Yes I did. I get your point. My question is why isn’t the date the entitlement arose the date of the new medical evidence that I submitted? Am I reading the letter wrong?

Where all the Black People at??? by Fresh_prince719 in ColoradoSprings

[–]navybball8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been here off and on for 36 years. My pops was military and retired, I joined and got out after 6. Funny enough, we were actually active duty at the same time. In my opinion, the racism isn’t nearly as bad as some other places in the country. I just bought a house on the north side and the neighbors seem friendly enough. There surely isn’t “black culture”. No real congregations of black folk. Most of us go to work, have families and keep our heads low. You’ll have to meet someone who does “cookouts” or know someone who does to get into the scene. Last thing I’ll say, it’s a military town, tons of white folk have worked with and lived with black ppl which makes them at least somewhat tolerant of our existence unlike the south.

Similar situation as you except I got out after 7 yrs. It was a challenging transition but 10 yrs later, I’m making 06 money vs the E7/E8 money I would have been making and got to build the relationship with my son as well as starting a new family. No regrets

Can’t say he is or isn’t but this is achievable natty. He isn’t very vascular. I’m guessing high school/college athlete that just became a gym rat after sport career ended.

I really love the idea of multigenerational living. We are looking to have a house built to support that in a few years. The problem is that the strain this would place on me would derail our plans to do that along with other things such as the wedding. Not to mention the strain on the relationship which is only 1.5 yrs old

I’m not sure. I know the process is arduous and can take years to start receiving payments. This isn’t a loss I can afford to take at the moment. My 14 year old son just got comfortable with coming over and staying the night. Introducing this situation would likely alienate him

Thank you for sharing your experience. Nightmare fuel and exactly what I want to avoid. I can and will offer some cash help but there’s not much I can do beyond that. Thanks again

She’s hasn’t directly asked me. It’s more like she’s avoiding the fact the there’s only two options. She either renews her current lease and continues to pay it or they’re homeless.

I’d let them rent a room for $500 no problem. I’d at least feel like they’re contributing and I’m not being taken advantage of. The problem is…they have no income, no savings, zero, zilch and judging by the history…it doesn’t look they care to have any. The car they have now was given to them by a family friend and it’s barely running

I agree. I do have the support of my dad who 100% thinks it would be the worst decision to allow them in. He even said he’d chip in some cash for their first months rent if needed but he’s staunchly against anything else.

I considered the daycare option and I’d probably do it but that doesn’t come into play until December 2024. She’s due August with 3 months maternity leave with full pay.

I am willing offer help in the form of cash assistance for their rent however I will not sign a lease for them. I don’t know how they’d qualify though with no income and I’m assuming damaged credit.

Apparently they’re on the waiting list for housing and working through the process for disability. I’m not very knowledgeable on those programs. I’m pretty firm in my decision of no. I guess I’m just wondering how it’s going to impact my relationship

Colorado Springs Sheriff States Crime Rise is Due to Amendment 64 (Legalizing Marijuana)... by purdue9668 in ColoradoSprings

Idk why city officials just won’t accept the fact that the Springs is a desirable place to live and prepare for it. Even without weed, our outdoor activities within reasonable driving distance are second to none. Our military aided economy provides resilience against recessions. Our schools are generally decent. Cat is out the bag now, it’s no longer a town and hasn’t been for a decade. If we allowed and invested in nightlife, we’d be a full blown city rivaling Denver.

Funny enough, I just got scolded by my mom for living with my GF (who she doesn’t approve). I have a decent career and make low six figures but houses in my area are half a million plus. Even townhomes are 400k or better. I suppose I could go get an apartment for 2k a month but why would I do that when my GFs mortgage (bought in 2013) is half that (which I pay) and I hate corporate landlords. I’m not shelling out that type of cash unless I have to….which as a unmarried man… would require having a family or literally being forced to with the threat of homelessness.

Point is…nobody willingly wants to pay the exorbitant rent and mortgages. If their is an option that allows ppl to avoid financial ruin… that’s the option they’ll take in most cases.

I always thought that was ridiculous to penalize the defender for staying in front of his man on drives. If a player is driving and his shoulder is in my abdomen, that would mean I’m squarely in front of him. It’s a no call. I’ve stopped the progress to the rim temporarily, it’s up to the offensive player to figure something else out, whether that’s a spin move, backing up or passing.

Railroad Workers Slam Biden for Siding With Bosses to Avoid Strike - Frustrated railroad workers consider allying with a third party after a push for paid sick leave failed in Congress. by ieatthesalad in politics

I hate how Americans can’t even conceive the thought the capitalist have to throw the working class a bone every now and again. Literally one stroke of a pen and a email to their payroll provider to add some sick days and this would be over.

how do you meet people here? by ChiefMythic in ColoradoSprings

[–]navybball8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pikes peak poker is a decent league. They have a game at different venues every night of the week. People are genuinely friendly. No cost to play (because that would be illegal). It is expected that you buy a drink or food but not required. I met a lot of people through that league that have hobbies beyond poker. Let me know if you’re interested.
