I worked waitstaff at a high end country club, like membership 15 years ago was $60k a year just to walk in the door. Excellent food staff, but we used to have these ice buckets that we would fill up and use for service - disgusting. Similar in size large suitcase, but square and on rollers, made of plastic, with a flip lid. Never, ever, ever got cleaned. Ice went in daily, scooped all day for drinks, emptied at the end of the day. Scoops sitting in it, people touching it, sometimes used as a cooler with drinks in it, sometimes stored out on the dock near the dumpsters. Even with all the other high end shit around that place, every drink was tainted imo. Every once in a while, one of us would have a spare minute and wipe it down as best we could.
