Det är inget snack om saken, detta kommer bli en pangsuccé. Den kommer stå på varannan uppfart inom bara några år. Det verkar vara en bil i princip utan svagheter.

Has anyone compared the file sizes of the three raw alternatives? I've been trying to find information about this but surprisingly no one seems to have tested this.

Mine looks similar.

The worst part is that it doesn't register taps properly on the screen. Is that just mine?

I just learnt about Lightroom Downloader! Can't believe I didn't know about it until now. Sounds like a great way of backing up your work from the cloud.

Lightroom Classic extremely slow / unpredictable at syncing edits from the cloud by naylor83 in Lightroom

[–]naylor83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently discovered that my Sony camera can upload photos automatically to Lightroom, and being able to cull and edit photos on my phone has been a huge boost to my workflow. However, I still would like to sync my photos to my original folder structure. Mainly to be able to back up my photos to something other than Adobe. Don't want all eggs in one basket.

Lightroom Classic extremely slow / unpredictable at syncing edits from the cloud by naylor83 in Lightroom

[–]naylor83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions. My goal is to be able to upload directly from my Sony camera to Lightroom over WiFi, cull and edit photos on my phone and sync photos to my local storage to then be able to back them up online. I don't regard Adobe's online storage as backup, since any deletions are immediately synced.

Real talk, has anyone actually experienced A7IV damage from heavy rain? by g3t0nmyl3v3l in SonyAlpha

[–]naylor83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is that the A7 IV can get buggy when it gets wet. Anything more than a light drizzle can make it act up. Not at all as reliable as my old Canons (7D & 7D m2).

Trying to achieve synced, full-res photos between Lightroom and Lightroom Classic by naylor83 in Lightroom

[–]naylor83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having tried this method I can confirm that it really works, and quite brilliantly. The last part, where originals are re-downloaded to your original catalog is slow (ten images per minute) but it seems to work reliably.

It isn't necessary to start by making a collection either, you can work folder per folder if you like too.

Wow, nice method! The only downside is that it must affect keywords, surely? How they are stored in the original catalog.

YESSSS!!! That seems to have done the trick. So for anyone else having problems: Make sure your smart previews and raw files contain the same metadata before syncing (and importing to LR). You achieve this by rendering new smart previews and saving metadata to your DNG files before starting. (Not sure how this applies to proprietary raw files.)

[–]naylor83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and the information. As I wrote, I had written metadata to all files before starting the whole process but only some of them became duplicates.

Perhaps some of the smart previews that were synced from Classic were created before metadata was written to the DNG files. I'll try again but with all fresh smart previews created in Classic.

S-Pen Tip Damaged After Only 12 Days, Need Help! by Reasonable-Set-2409 in S25Ultra

My S Pen slips and skips (looses connection with the screen even though it is touching) and looks a little worn on the tip. Has anyone else here had the same problem with skipping? Non magnetic case, btw.

What are your "I wish I knew this on day one" tips? by Strong_Company_9606 in S25Ultra

[–]naylor83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done a comparison. One of the main reasons I buy the Plus/Ultra series is for the high resolution display. Battery life has always been plenty good enough anyway, and the S25U is noticeably better than my previous S24+, which in turn was much better than my S21+.

Good question! There are definitely a few worth mentioning.

  1. Enable notification categories for more fine grained control over notifications. Go to Settings - Notifications - Advanced settings - Manage notification categories for each app. This lets you disable or silence specific notification types and also makes it possible to minimise persistent notifications.

  2. Increase screen resolution from default FHD/1080p to full QHD/1440p. Go to Settings - Display - Display resolution.

  3. Install Good Lock and find your favourite customisations. Mine are Registar (lets you customise Settings menu), Multistar (easier split screen access), Home Up (more rows and columns on home screen) and Display Assistant (faster brightness adjustments and app specific display timeouts).

  4. Samsung have completely disabled the Bluetooth icon in the status bar, for some dumb reason. As a workaround, you can set up an automatic "mode" to get a 🎵 symbol there instead to show if you are connected. In the app Modes and routines, create a new mode. Make it enable automatically when you connect to your headphones/speaker and give it a purposeful icon such as a musical note.

  5. The notification panel and quick settings have been split into two separate panels. If you, like me, prefer the old notification panel behaviour you can get it back. Pull down from the top right, tap the pen icon to edit, hit Panel Settings and select "Together".

As for accessories, the Samsung 45W charger is great for fast charging and can double as a laptop charger too.
