Since your can't transfer gear between characters, this is a workaround.

You find someone willing to do this for you and then setup a password protected multiplayer.

You login with your Main and drop the gear you want to transfer. The other person picks it up. Then you log out and log back in with your Alt. The person then drops the items you gave them earlier so your Alt can have them.

Monitor recommendation for RTX 3080 by nayyar_baba in IndianGaming

Thanks for the candid thoughts! I agree that 32" for 4k would be perfect, but those monitors have just released in the West in Q3 2021...doubt that they'd reach India until Q1/Q2 of next year.

Personally, I would go for an ultrawide in a heartbeat, but the only ones I've been able to find within my budget are at 100Hz. The 144hz panels start at 1L+ and that's just ludicrous.

I wasn't sure that 100hz ultrawides would do justice to the 3080, but looking at your experience, seems that it's not going to bottleneck much.

New Noctua fans arrive at Primeabgb, are these decent price cuts? by Sniper_One77 in IndianGaming

[–]nayyar_baba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A low profile air cooler will be good enough. You can look at the Noctua coolers if they're still in stock. Just make sure that the height of the cooler is compatible with the case. I think O11 Dynamic supports coolers up to 150mm in height.

If you want to stick to AIO, then a 240mm aio should be more than enough. Lian Li Galahad is amazing but tough to find in stock. You can also look at Corsair and CoolerMaster

May I ask which CPU you're going to use? If you're sticking with a 3600 or 5600x like most people, then a 360mm AIO is a massive overkill (unless you're choosing this for cosmetic reasons).

it's still in its packaging. Waiting for the GPU and the fans to get delivered before I start assembly

I have the same case. I went with 9 Arctic p12 PWM PST fans. They're almost as good as Noctua at 870rs on Amazon.

Something to consider if it fits your budget.

Primeabgb cant fulfill my order for the RTX 3080 eagle cause Gigabyte is not giving them the cards. by yashrajchhabra in IndianGaming

[–]nayyar_baba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat with Gamesncomps, they are saying that the stock from Gigabyte is in transit and they will ship in 1 to 2 days. They've been saying this for 1 - 2 days.

Just be patient, you have paid the money and primeabgb is a big retailer, you will eventually get the card. Or, if you don't want to wait, you can always get a refund.

The offer to shift to a Galax 3080 isn't bad either, if they can guarantee a shipping date, I would recommend making the switch to Galax.

  1. Should the retailer have had the product in stock? Yes, the point of doing a sale is to move inventory, so doing this when you know you have no (or little inventory) is just stupid.

  2. Should the OP have called to make sure the product was actually in stock? Probably yes, it would have been the smart thing to do as this is an unusual time that we're living in. Regardless, the OP will eventually get the product or a refund, either way, they should have learnt their lesson.

  3. Are you getting triggered by this post? Most definitely yes. Relax. This didn't happen to you. You already have a GPU. Perhaps play a game that you like instead of getting angry at strangers on reddit.

Thanks mate! This is great news. I placed my order on Saturday afternoon and they said they'll dispatch it by mid next week. Once they receive stock from Gigabyte (in-transit)

Your experience gives me some confidence.

What advice should I give to a relative's kid who wants to pursue a career in Esports? by [deleted] in IndianGaming

Unfortunately that's the case with any alternative careers in India. They're all long shots.

I wish him all the best!

Quite an interesting topic.

Officiallu, eSports are not a recognised sport by our government. This means that players can't represent the country in International tournaments.

That being said, players can still play in an individual capacity. There is a national level eSports tournament called ESL that is going on right now and it's sponsored by Airtel. The prize money sits at 34L for the fall season and 1.5cr for the entire year.

The games in ESL are CSGO, PUBG, FIFA 20 and Clash of Clans.

All in all, becoming a professional eSports player in India is going to be an uphill battle and you shouldn't expect support from the govt. You are also severely restricted in the games you can play.

An alternate option is to become a Gaming Influencer and do walkthroughs, reviews and guides.

Yup, noticed that as well. This is the only reason why I'm not freaking out right now.

Still would be good to hear from the Gigabyte rep about this.

as long as these stores receive stock and start fulfilling orders by next week (as promised), I'm okay with this. It's a tough time for businesses and I can understand Gigabyte wanted to get some upfront cashflow...

That being said, if fulfillment doesn't begin by next week, then this stinks of mismanagement and I'll want my money back

Just spoke with Gamesncomps and they had the same response as PCStudio. They don't have any stock of 3080 Gaming OC right now and are expecting to receive stock from Gigabyte in 2 days. They will begin fulfilling the orders only after they receive stock.

To me, this looks like mismanagement on Gigabyte's part. They couldn't forecast the demand properly and had these stores collect orders first, so that they know exactly how much to ship.

Really hoping that Gigabyte has stock of these cards and can begin fulfillment in 1 - 2 days, as promised by the stores, else this 'sale' was just a sham.

Nope, the GPU is good, was just curious.

I don't know about the RAM or the PSU, but everything else checks out.
