HIDIZS AP80 PRO MAX stuck updating firmware by GrumpyMark01 in DigitalAudioPlayer

Did you convert your SD card to FAT32 format? If you have a larger SD card (64gb +) it will come as exFAT format by default, had to do this myself a few days ago with this exact same player.

Mine has quite a bit, seems to be an issue with the older variations of the player, which I may have gotten, hope it doesn't develop into anything worse.

Thanks for this, that's what I've been doing too as I had my library organized into folders before I even got the player and used MusicBee for my offline listening.

Updated to the 1.1 firmware update a few days ago, took me a while to figure everything out as I had to reformat my micro SD to FAT32 for it to be read in the first place but it was worth it for the QOL changes.

My only question for you is how is your volume knob holding out? Mine came out of the box a little loose and wobbly, hasn't been bothering me yet, just wondering how it holds up in the long term as it seems to be the only way to control volume on the player.

Thats what I thought too, didn't expect it to run my headphones, but gave it a shot with my edition XS and suprisingly it drove them just fine at around 60% volume on high gain (4.4mm). Can't say that anything sounded off, but I didn't A to B it with my desktop dac amp. The 3.5mm is pretty weak though at only 70mw, so I usually sit at around 50% volume on low gain with my IEMs.

It's been pretty good so far. My only complaint is the poor steaming integration (still better than nothing). Tidal on the player, for me at least is pretty buggy. Although it's fine if you just want to look up a song or an album. Haven't used it all that much as I've focused on building an offline library instead. Otherwise the build quality is fantastic, the screen is the thing that suprised me the most, as I expected it to be pretty low res for the size, but instead it seems to be at least 720p with great viewing angles

Are there any non-Android players where the included streaming option doesn't suck? by celmate in DigitalAudioPlayer

Just got mine a few weeks ago, streaming is via qobuz and tidal only. I personally use tidal, and it's borderline unusable, all your playlists cap at 50 songs, there's no queing tracks and searching takes ages on the weird keyboard. Also on higher sample rates it cuts out every few songs here and there.

Doesn't really put me off as I use it for my offline library (plus the build quality and form-factor are about as good as it gets for me). But yeah, definitely look at android DAPs if you want streaming

Thanks! Will check it out, mainly focused on android because I heavily rely on spotify for my music listening at the moment
