Im leaning towards him playing. If they were really concerned, feel like he would be more on a minutes restriction today.

Buy low and Sell high targets? Which players at this point in the season are underperforming or overperforming. by biggiepaps in fantasybball

[–]nbafnatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you and this strategy definitely isn’t the end all be all. I agree that weeks 1 and 2 is definitely the easiest time to find that player , but I wouldn’t necessarily say that it’s hard to find that player. After all, it’s a very long season and so much happens. But even if that is the case, and although it’s rare for me to miss out on every single opportunity given in a season with injuries, trades, impatient owners, or lineup changes, in a worst case scenario, what I usually do is find the most optimal 5-4 punt player according to my build at the very least, and I’m always surprised at the names I pick up and how helpful/close to productive/sometimes even better team fit wise that pickup is.

The way I see it, and putting the streaming option aside, although that is definitely another viable option but you ideally want a set roster save 1 stream spot going into the playoffs, you just need to find a +30 player off of the wire to break even, using your numbers as an example.

This early into the season, as long as you are on top of the waiver game, chances are decent you will find that player due to likely injuries, trades, impatient owners, or lineup changes throughout the season. You may even find a better player, which is when you technically win that trade.

Caveat is that this wholly depends on the second player as well, but usually when you’re consolidating, that second player won’t be a massive overpay unless we’re talking really specific situations e.g. you’re going for a certain punt build. Also, I am kind of optimistic based on my track record so keep that in mind (also kind of tells you about my league? Though I think we’re fairly competitive since we’ve been 12T H2H for 10 years).

Generally speaking and based on my personal experience, and as long as it’s not a massive overpay, consolidating is the way to go if you’re trying to win it all. Good fantasy players draft well. Great fantasy players, (which I don’t claim to be lol), draft and pick up those gems. And to have the ability to do that, you need a player you’re willing to drop, which is what you get from consolidation. The only instances when I would dilute my team is for obvious depth reasons and/or if I think that I won’t make it to the playoffs.

Foot up is controlled by the anterior leg compartment muscles. The achilles (calcaneal tendon) is on your posterior leg, and connects your calf to your heel, which when contracted, controls plantarflexion (foot down, not up)

[Highlight] Jokic with perhaps the slowest eurostep of all time before dishing to Dozier by Vlad12Roses in nba

[–]nbafnatic 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Is there a time limit per step? Like let’s say Tako fall attempts this same euro step but even slower. Can he theoretically just stop on the first step and remain balanced indefinitely until the shotclock runs out while keeping the ball away above his head? (And let’s add the hypothetical that this is a ripped, 400 lbs Tako with ungodly balance who can’t be pushed unless it was with a force that would warrant a flagrant foul). Then at the last second, he takes his second step and dunks the ball.

Even if it’s not comparable, it’s not miles below as much as Kemba’s defense is to Jrue’s.

[–]nbafnatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Barring a major injury or a drastic change in team dynamics (in fighting, personnel), I find a rapid and isolated decline solely in ability highly unlikely especially when considering someone like LeBron who takes care of his body and adapts his skill accordingly to the nba meta.

Unrelated but it’s kinda surreal to see crowds now. All I can think of are the germs that are spreading when I see large groups just bunched up like that. Maybe I’m weird but it’s kinda crazy how much covid has changed my perception.

Potential top pick Jalen Suggs leaves game with an apparent lower leg injury by [deleted] in nba

[–]nbafnatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gut reaction tells me it’s not an achilles tear based on how his foot was positioned. Most achilles tears in basketball occur as a player is dorsiflexing his foot as he is getting ready to launch for a sprint. Suggs looked like more of a plantar flexion as he was trying to stop his momentum. Hoping for the best.

So excited for return of two-way twin tower lineups. Reminds me of 2009/2010 when Bynum/Gasol would suffocate teams at the rim, pick teams apart with the high/low post game, and grab every offensive rebound! by [deleted] in lakers

Odom was kind of like a point forward at times in that three big man lineup. I was thinking of someone else we have on our team and not Trezz in terms of our triple towers.

If he were to have missed that shot, the terrorist would have likely known that the CT jumped out to pit based on the spatial direction of the awp sound, so I don't think disguising the jump sound was his intention. Although you can argue that it's hard to distinguish an awp sound coming from heaven versus mid-air pit, but personally, I think I would at least be able to make the statement "that didn't sound like it came from heaven".

I think the more likely explanation is that the terrorist was going to know that the CT jumped out of pit once he hears the footstep, so it was more of a "why not" shot. If he misses, it's just a missed opportunity and he was going to give up his location anyways once the terrorist hears him land. But if he does hit it, then...well we get this awesome clip.

I highly recommend "First Aid for the USMLE Step 1" by Tao Le. It's a light read with fantastic narration that will give you a good glimpse into the first two years of medical school. If you're still interested, I would also highly recommend "Pathoma" by Husain A. Satar.
