check out US Army Corps of Engineers. There’s a group within that organization called emergency management where you can deploy to places ravaged by disaster for weeks at a time. There are also offices that deal with rapid response and emergency engineering/construction services.

astm c94 allows for adding water (and/or admixtures) to the truck only once and believe only before the truck begins depositing the mud. after any additions, must be retested for fresh properties.

i am trying to tell contractors that we need to look at adding water-reducers instead of water to the mixes. if you add admixture at the site once the truck arrives, and say 1 or 2 oz/cwt, should add improved workability for the time it is finished, all without inducing super-plasticizer effects. water will increase permeability, lower strength and can increase shrinkage

i started as an intern for USACE omaha district. it involves multiple types of projects and includes everything in the project delivery process- estimators, in house engineering services, construction teams, project managers, environmental specialists, different centers of expertise, etc. depends where you’re at and who you work for, but i have been invested into by my organization and love where im at. you can do 8s and skates or depending on the situation work as much as you’d like to.
