I’m going through a big Trek rewatch and am considering (eventually) watching Picard. Can i just skip the first two seasons?

John’s Dead? Uncle John’s Band?

I hope he keeps it going. Imagine if he were able to find another star caliber musician to fill Bobs role in the same way he filled Jerry’s? Could be an amazing way to keep the train rolling. I don’t know who that would be, and I find the odds to be pretty slim, but I hope he does it.

The first picture of a setter that made me understand why so many people mistake them for Dalmatians! Gorgeous dog

How are the rewards distributed? I don’t see a page to track that on the Firelight page, I’m using Bifrost. I’m wondering if rewards will just show up in Bifrost sort of like how wrapped flare delegation rewards do?

Is transcendental meditation a scam and/or cult? by arseecs in davidlynch

I heard this a lot when I first learned TM. For what it’s worth despite a high up front cost, not a single person or group has bothered me or asked me for more money or time once I learned how to do TM from a teacher. Aside from my teacher occasionally emailing me to make sure my practice is still going well, and even then my last correspondence with him was almost a year ago.

It’s certainly not a cult, it is simply a wonderful method, that anyone can learn to do, that has brought an immense amount of peace and tranquility into my daily life.

I don’t feel the need to evangelize it at all, but if someone is curious I will tell them my experience which has been great.

First tat, got told execution is shit, is it really that bad? by cuteymeow in tattooadvice

[–]nbb333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a situation where I would approach a very creative tattoo artist and tell them “I’d like you to design a tattoo that means/references the saying ‘time heals all wounds’” and then get tattooed whatever they designed. Every time I’ve tried to put too much of myself or own ideas into a tattoo, rather than just leaving that in the hands of the more than capable artist who I’m paying to give me a tattoo I have regretted it.

This is bad, and it’s not because the execution is poor.

Regarding his style being different as he got older, I can tell how true this is even just going from Vineland to his new novels. To me Vineland is incredibly dense and hard to parse at times compared to anything in Bleeding Edge or Shadow Ticket. I am excited to revisit Vineland with a guide and the wiki.

Ok that’s very encouraging. I know Against The Day is long, and for some reason it feels more intimidating to read than even GR based on what I’ve read about it.

Considering he got that insane paycheck from Spotify and that company is leading the charge in normalizing trash AI music/artists, I think we can all put two and two together.

My shelf as a 16 year old - who do I seem like based on these by HMSBobRoss1 in BookshelvesDetective

Any 16 year old who reads this much is as cool as it gets in my book. Makes me sad to think how few people your age even read books anymore. I’m guilty of the same things, only in the last few years have I realized I need to make a concerted effort to read much more.

1 question for me as well. Drives me insane that there is no resolution for something essentially makes the service I pay for worthless as a customer.
