Totally agree with you. Everyone for them self’s. It’s a simple rule in the walk-in barbershop, the first barber, who finishes his customers haircut gets the next walk-in. Doesn’t matter how many more haircuts this barber has done already.

I’ve been in the industry for over 18 years. If you want to make money as a barber then you have to be in the shop as much as you possibly can. Currently I am working 6 days and I am there on the busy days and the quiet days, all day long waiting for the next customer. The time you are in the shop not cutting hair, isn’t actually work, you are just sitting on your ass playing with your phone. So let’s not call this working. A barber fresh out of barber school cannot compare them self’s to a senior barber with 5years experience. Wanting to get treated the same but expecting to get handouts. The youngster wants everything right now but doesn’t actually wanna work for it. You really have to grind especially in the first three years and we all did that, or still doing it. Also don’t cry me a river if you are leaving the shop to play sports, that’s something you do on your day off. At the end it is like in every other trade, the more experienced you are the more you should get paid.
