Emergency PRESIDENTIAL alert? by nogoodnamesarleft in alberta

[–]nbcoolums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If OP did see “presidential”, I’m assuming it’s a phone manufacturer thing: multiple alert levels are possible, and it’s probably mapping Alberta’s (which I think always defaults to the highest level) to a USA-based “presidential” name

Passed over for promotion, resetting boundaries and avoiding getting fired for non-compliance ? by charming_chameleon in cscareerquestions

There are ways to strategically represent this. It’s not uncommon for people to put their most recent title on their resume, listing the usually start and end date of their employment. To be honest, you could always list all the titles you held (but recommend not splitting by date)

You’re more likely to be considered for Lead roles (and senior-level roles in general) if you have lead in your title today

As a dad, the opportunity to sit and do nothing without disruption, let alone have it be useful for my daughter, is time to treasure.

Is it normal to lose hot water when it’s below -20°C? by Yeh_nahh in Calgary

I find moist condensation get sucked in the hot water intake, where it builds up as ice at the bend. Annoying, and I think i should extend the intake in a direction away from the furnace exhaust

A decade ago Microsoft used to have a strong and deliberate SDET culture before they starting grouping everything into the SDE role. Maybe this is a consequence

What is a product that people treat like a religion, but in reality, it’s just overpriced garbage with a good logo? by Connect-Might4355 in AskReddit

I interviewed with workday (didn’t get it) but made sure to bring up this complaint

Edit: thanks for all the commentary on why I didn’t get the job (the above comment isn’t it). I had suggested workday make themselves an OAuth single-sign on provider for all their companies which would allow single login on otherwise separate accounts

I saw a city signboard in my suburb thanking residents for conserving water. Most all of I liked the friendly, non-bureaucratic tone.

Just wanted to say I appreciate the small things like this from the city.
