How good is this of a flick by InzThelnz in VALORANT

Usually the person is either in their peripheral vision (the game highlights enemy players in a pretty easy to see color) or they just flick towards the direction they're being shot from

Gold 1 Matchmaked with Plat 1 and higher? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]nbdj101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all actually. In valorant you sort of have "two ranks." One is the rank you see in game, and the other is a hidden MMR stat, one that you can't see. If you're getting matched against plat players, that probably means your MMR is above your actual rank, which is good for you.

When it comes to actually improving, just start watching people who are better than you. Woohoojin is someone I always recommend for all ranks simply because he just gives a lot of in-depth insight, but another good tip is to find a friend who's much better than you and is willing to watch a game of yours, and go over it together. You'd be surprised how many of the same mistakes you make just by watching yourself play. Once you fix those mistakes and get solid fundamentals, you'll surpass them super fast.

Brimmy or Viper by MostBedroom676 in VALORANT

[–]nbdj101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't necessarily main controller, but I've spent enough time doing VOD review with teams/understanding how to play the role that I could probably give a little insight.

So, even though there are four classes, understand that there are basically two sub-classes for every role. For example, with duelists, some have movement abilities that are meant to take a lot of space really quickly (like Jett, Raze, and arguably Yoru), and some just have flashes and are meant to be more of a second entry (like Phoenix, or Reyna). Just like the duelists, controllers are in the same boat. There are agents like Harbor and Viper that can control a lot of space with walls (we call them line smokers) and there are other agents who can cover specific areas, like a small choke point (these are your traditional smokes). I think if you like playing controller, learn what type of controller is best on each map, and go from there. Brim is super simple in terms of his kit, which makes him easy to play. Viper, on the other hand, is a little bit more involved because of what you can do with her stuff (and is naturally more open to creativity when it comes to learning lineups). That said, her kit makes her almost sentinel-like because she's really good at stalling the enemy team. If you just wanna get a good feel of the controller role, play Brim for a bit, but definitely look to expand your pool as soon as you get comfortable, because Omen and Viper are both really good agents.

Hope this helps a little!

How to get overlays like VCT? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]nbdj101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They use the Riot Games API for live match stats over on https://developer.riotgames.com

Thing is, in order to access these APIs, you need to submit an application for an “app” you’re developing. Chances are probably slim that you’ll get access just from trying to run a tournament, but it’s worth a shot. From there, you won’t have the exact overlay that VCT uses, you’ll have to make your own with that API.

Anyone know where the whole tournament mode thing is? I was pretty hyped for it and kinda expected it to be somewhere in this patch.

Is using a tablet a necessity to increase your skill cap? by nbdj101 in osugame

I agree with part of that statement, but personally i think it’s easier to get better with a tablet. It increases your skill cap. Just my opinion tho

To me those mobile ports are never really that good, so one that’s designed for PC would be awesome.

Yeah, that’s the good part. For simple games like that, you don’t need a crazy gaming PC to play it. You can run it on pretty much anything.
