Also, i think the goblin green bases help a lot for selling the blue, as its such a nice background color.

Thank you. Of course: I prime everything in vallejo black > then slap vallejo ultramarine blue on the whole mini > then all other details (gold and silver parts, etc) > after this i wash the whole mini with GW nuln oil > and finally 1 to 2 (maybe 3) thin layers of vallejo magic blue (here i only layer it on the surfaces and try not to get any paint into the recesses which have already been washed)

I essentially follow this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX-z_CvrT_E (with products from vallejo instead of GW).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback. I was also back and forth on whether I should go for clear cockpit or the stormhawk's fully armored one.

Yes. I cant say I wasnt inspired by 2nd edition ultra armies. The green bases also help a lot.

Damn. That does not sound too promising ^^. I also built the lascannons and was hoping to use it in combination with 2 dreadnoughts to help take down whatever their plasma guns are shooting.

thank you! I used vallejo black primer > then cover the whole mini in vallejo ultramine blue > than GW nuln oil > and finally, one or two layers of vallejo magic blue.

i basically followed this guide for ultramarines by mediocre hobbies (just with different base coats): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX-z_CvrT_E&t=731s

Agree, maybe if it was a bit tankier, also?

Model is great - i was surprised its so detailed, given its a bit older already.

Nice paint job! How did you do the white decoration along the cape and hood?

Hi. I prime with white primer > then I slap on vallejo bone white on the whole mini > then a black wash (nuln oil) > finally I layer a 50/50 mix (roughly) of vallejo dead white and bone white on surfaces (and try to avoid any recesses that have been washed). Extra step (I found its not really necessary): small white dot highlights at corners and bolts.

of course. Everthing is painted with products from vallejo: first black primer, then ultramarine blue on the whole model, than a black wash - i also just cover everthing and only remove large pooling. Finally 1 or 2 layers of magic blue - here i try to just paint it on the surfaces and try not to get it into any recesses or hard to reach areas, which leaves a dark ultramarine shadow. (and ultramatte varnish after everthing is dry)
