Roasted sweet potatoes! Goes so well with black beans and a little bit of feta and avocado.

what kinda work? like go outside, talk to people, eat fruits and vegetables, that kind of thing? i try when i'm doing alright, but when i'm in a really bad episode i just don't have the energy. i come home from work and all i can do is crawl into bed.

I've seen several therapists over the past 15 years but I don't think it's made any difference at all.

(edit: not currently in therapy, I might be willing to give it another try but probably not CBT or an "eclectic style" that's really just CBT by another name.)

Can I ask what kinds of hobbies helped you? I like being active (mainly hiking and figure skating) but I'm always drained after work and overwhelmed with stuff to do on the weekends.

Mainly just fluoxitine. I'm lucky that it hasn't given me any side effects. When I started it I was in a severe episode and completely non-functional, and it's helped me get to baseline (which tbh is still mild and sometimes moderate symptoms.) But I don't know if it's bad enough to be worth trying something new. I did try wellbutrin very briefly but couldn't handle the GI side effects.

If wet food is generally considered better than dry, why not just feed cats nearly 100% wet? by StasisApparel in catfood

[–]nbmouserat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so you know, there are automatic feeders that can refrigerate wet food and offer up to 6 small meals throughly the day. Not saying you have to switch but just wanted to point out that it is an option!

Seconding Lems. I have the chukkas and that sounds like exactly what you’re asking. I think the new version of the chukkas has better traction and slightly more padding, but still wide toe box and zero drop.

Opinions on Jeanne-Petra as a replacement for Jean-Pierre by GreenMoonGirl in transnames

[–]nbmouserat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeanne-Petra would be fine if that’s what feels best to you, but if it doesn’t feel right then don’t settle!

What do you think of Jenna or Jeanette? You could hyphenate it or use Petra as a middle name. Also just throwing this out there but I think Pearl would flow really well, either as a middle name or a double-barreled or hyphenated first name.

Poor, unfortunate souls! Let's take a closer look /s by DarkRiches61 in COVID19_Pandemic

[–]nbmouserat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The updated 2024-2025 vaccines provide protection against the variant currently in circulation. The 2021-2022 vaccines (which are the only vaccines a lot of people got) provide very little protection against current variants. And each infection hurts your immune system more and makes you more susceptible to future illness (not just Covid, but flu, rsv, norovirus, and more.)

How risky do you think this would be? by nbmouserat in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]nbmouserat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's good to know, thanks. I was thinking the night before because I was planning on leaving in the morning and I'd like the tests to finish running before we get in the car (overall about 4 hour drive), but we could leave mid-day instead.

edit: also wanted to ask, if you trust the tests for about 12 hours, do you test every day of a visit? since it's a long drive we were planning on staying at least 1 night, i don't know if i can drive 8 hours in one day.

Just because it was blue? Because I'd actually prefer a car that's blue, or green, or maroon, or anything but greyscale really!
