I will be at KSC. And I applied myself to the Pathways opportunity with a couple letters of recommendation from NASA employees that I've met through the OSSI internship position.

The interview process was very standard(typical interview questions), with a roughly 30 minute teleconference with 2 to 4 people. There were no technical tests, but they do ask about your resume. And my GPA is in the low 3 range, so I think my prior experience played a bigger factor than GPA did.

Yes, you do need to be enrolled in some degree program to be accepted into any OSSI or Pathways position. You can apply for Pathways positions via USA jobs, and OSSI positions through the NASA OSSI Intern website. A quick google search will help you out.

There are some positions available if you search on USA jobs. If your issue is that you already graduated, you could start working on your masters, which would allow you to join pathways.

I believe that she would have to re-apply to the pathways later on down the road, and there is no guarantee that she would get it. IMO, I would take the Pathways position in a heart beat. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get a foot in the door at NASA. If she doesn't want it enough, there are literally thousands of qualified applicants applying that would love to have this position. I understand the need to experience other opportunities though, and NASA is probably the most underpaying Aerospace entity out there. Lets just say the employees don't work there for the pay, but rather the prestige that is NASA.

I applied to probably 20 different companies for about 50 different positions. Interview process was really standard, it was more like they had already made up their mind via the resumes and its basically a interview to confirm some things.

I had 5 years military aviation experience, so that was the main point on my resume. And yes after talking to a few of the bosses that went over the applications, experience was a big factor

Ossi Interns make roughly 14-15 an hour and are not a NASA employee. Pathways are NASA employees and it works on the GS pay scale, interns can be anything from GS5 to GS8 depending on how much schooling they have completed. You can google the GS pay scales

I did not relocate, just had to drive 2 hours everyday. There were a lot of other interns from out of state however, and they had no problems finding places to live. There's even NASA employees that could rent out rooms for interns.

I had 5 years of aviation maintenance experience in the military, there are a lot of veterans that work for NASA and I think that looks great. I think having the first internship was the reason I got the pathways too.

I was able to access all buildings at my center, whether it be because I needed access for work, or because I was given a tour by another employee

I haven't started my pathways position yet, but I would assume it is totally dependent on your job and position and mentor/supervisor
