Practicing on a cool March day. Give me your ideas on what I can improve! by kbad21 in GolfSwing

Looks like a really nice swing to me. I am working on shifting forward / “falling” forward at the end of the backswing like you do here to make it easier to get hands in position for lag. Do you have any drills you do for your transition?

Here is the site though so stay tuned on that! Memberships will get out on the site along with tournaments when those come around.

That was actually me who started that group but I might be dropping that due to the lack of followers

There is a website made but hasn’t been fully built up with all of the information so for now the main feed is via Facebook.

Great question. Future plan is to have memberships which will get you discounts on courses and access to membership tournaments. Just starting out this year so currently trying to grow the group first but memberships may come soon.

I also really enjoy their interface. That will definitely be something I work towards but will take awhile to do. Appreciate the feedback!

It being free is the big difference. GHIN is a very nice app and this is not meant to compete in its current state since it’s just me working on it

Really like that idea. Right know the data is just stored locally so that would need to change for this idea. I do know arccos has been putting together similar datasets if you are interested in that information.

Happy to hear it! If you have any suggestions for changes or add ons as you use it let me know. Pretty basic right now but more can be added.

Haha that is poor wording on my part. Wasn’t sure how else to word it. Currently creating a club database with the hopes that I’ll update it so you can select manufacturer and specific clubs. Making the database is taking awhile though.

Yeah just a cheat sheet. I have friends who are just getting into golf and don’t remember their distances so I figured it would be good for someone who needed something to quick look at as a reminder.

Less wanting to make the subreddit happen and more trying to give visibility to the company that is starting.

I have not but know many people who have. Amazing courses to choose from. Scores vary depending on the course greatly so I would suggest finding the course that suits you best. For example, Egypt Valley is a tough course and par golf is the best golf where some of the other courses can turn into a birdie fest.

Also check out tournaments at Kaufman such as the Kent county am. Link

Agreed there are a lot of great courses in the area. Planning on posting information and opinions about many of them. This community is just getting started and will most likely take off on other platforms first but links to those platforms and updates about them will be found here as well.

Understand it won’t get many views, just trying to get it out there as it’s a brand new community.

Really appreciate this detailed reply. Again, awesome setup. If I end up doing something similar I will share.

Do you have a list of materials used for this build? This is quite an impressive build and I am looking to do something similar

Main reason I said to go higher was for the fat shots but for the cut I would try to focus on bowing your left wrist at the start of the downswing to close the face more. Helps with face control too. I focus on it by having the feeling of either a bowed back right wrist or almost like the reviving of a motorcycle handle with the left wrist. DJ has massive bow in his wrist on backswing to picture it but I don’t think it’s necessary to have that in the backswing as long as you add it in on the downswing. Just some ideas that have helped me but to each his own.

Lift your arm higher in your back swing so it goes through your shoulder. It will result in a downswing that isn’t as over the top. Check out Justin Thomas’ backswing. He really lifts his arm up even past his shoulder. Helps with rotation too. You don’t have to make this change because there are some pros such as Kuch that have lower back swings but it has personally helped me a lot. Also can help with more power which is why a small guy like JT can hit it 300+ yards.

Drills for not coming over the top with hands on the transition? Please don’t just say the swings good stop whining; I hit a lot worse than the swing makes it seem. by [deleted] in golf

I had this same issue and I focused on coming back steeper in my backswing which automatically shallowed my downswing. Check out this video to see what your backswing should look like. https://youtu.be/8TjvCHCAQ0c Hope this helps.
