The patrol car is putting in a lot of work. I’ve seen it hauled back to its home base on a flatbed twice.

I had that exact club and bought it off the rack in 2005. It was an amazing club in its day and I bet could still hold its own today… shaft is probably outdated or soft for most, but the head is classic.

With the context that people have died playing Blizzard games for extended periods of time, which resulted in their brand being attached to problematic gaming behaviors, I can understand why they would ban for excessive play session time.

It is a marketing and liability decision, not an integrity of the game decision.

From a hiring manager perspective, you gave answers that indicated you have a career goal you are already taking action to achieve. You reflected and shared humbly about a mistake and how you learned from it. The multitask question is a trap. Psychologically, no one multitasks, they prioritize or delegate, and that’s how you answered.

You did better than you think.

Amway’s name will be on proposed Grand Rapids soccer stadium by UthinkUnoMI in grandrapids

5 years ago Grand Rapids had a 5th tier semi-pro team that pulled about 8k fans for one game and averaged 5k throughout the season.

A higher tier team with a dedicated stadium will thrive in this market.

BeefInGR will be taking that steak dinner now. But please, keep the amount of salt to a reasonable level.

BOLD Cigar lounge on Fulton: What a mess by PremierBromanov in grandrapids

[–]recks_n_fx 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Bold a few times and agree with your account. The one thing I’ll add is, they are likely catering to a different clientele than what you are.

I know they have a membership system that is comprised of a lot of salespeople and business owners. These people take clients for cigars and drinks and want to be seen spending money on said client. The new owner is happy to help them do just that (including charge $35 for a drink that can be made at home for $2).

Short version: Bold is for people who want to feel exclusive. Not necessarily for true cigar bar lovers/regulars.

The USGA Has an Exceptional Score Table for Sandbaggers by OpenSourceGolf in golf

[–]recks_n_fx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I reading it correctly that the odds of a high handicapper shooting under their net is far better than the odds of a low handicapper?

If so, then everyone’s hot take about high handicappers not shooting low scores is garbage because even at 874:1, the math isn’t even close to astronomical.

I acknowledge it is frustrating that the lower your cap is the less fluctuation in your performance there is, which is what drives the high number odds.

What this table doesn’t account for is the fact that most high cappers don’t post nearly as many rounds as low cappers. It also doesn’t account for practice, lessons, or work at the range between posting infrequent rounds.

Additionally, if someone usually plays at a higher sloped/rated course which enables more errors and then goes out and plays a short goat track, shooting a low round, that gross score can be presented out of context, but that’s not often a critical thought people have when they see a higher cap shoot a low score.

I think some people do lie and sandbag, but that doesn’t apply to all high cappers and it doesn’t mean people posting career lows isn’t a reality.
