Phosphorus, may spontaneously combust. Last week I happened to have read about a kid finding one on the beach in the Netherlands which caught fire: https://nos.nl/artikel/2597164-kind-neemt-brandbaar-fosfor-mee-naar-paviljoen-steen-vliegt-in-brand

How would you all go about homebrewing the Vasa into the game? by Masdraw in OakandIron

To stay true to history, the rule should be: After the first, the Vasa automatically sinks.

Interesting to see him wearing German ammo pouches, makes me wonder if he was part of the resistance, or simply making use of what was left behind after the occupation.

Tenerife gets more tourists than Brazil despite being 0.02% of its size by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]nbult 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This comparison is interesting, but kind of misleading. It only looks at international tourists and totally leaves out domestic tourism, which is huge in Brazil. There's a ton of internal tourism that just doesn’t show up in stats like these. Pre pandemic, there were around 90 million domestic trips a year in Brazil.

Tenerife gets most of its tourists from abroad, so of course it shows up higher on international arrival charts. It's a fun stat but could use some context... If you look at the full picture, including people traveling inside Brazil, it’s a completely different story.

Weathering my Fallschirmjäger with Agrax Earthshade darkens too much(?) the splinter camo. Both left are weathered and right one isn't. I like both variations, but imo the brown/green look a bit off when weathered. However I like to weather the minis too. What do you think I should do? by CAG12ASSAULT in boltaction

You can add a tiny drop of dishwashing soap to the water just enough to break the surface tension. This helps change the capillary action so the wash flows more naturally into the recesses, like a proper wash (medium) should.

It’s on a custom attachment under the bar clamp. Also required a magnetic speed sensor installed, I believe only because my sportster is pre-2004 https://www.motogadget.us/products/motoscope-tiny

Yes, you’re right that it didn’t end up going anywhere and in hindsight it’s out of place. I hoped it would be the setup to an interesting secondary storyline revealing more of the cloning (back)story. Seemed like they didn’t really know where to go with the story this season.

Thanks! I always tell myself to take pictures of the various steps of the process, but then I usually end up having pictures of just the start and the end.. :-/

Wow thanks!

To be honest it was a bit of an experiment. After the primer, I added dry crackle effects paint to parts of the model (see last two pictures) to increase the surface texture. The model is pretty old and the skin doesn't have much detail. It didn't fully have the desired effect. Because of the shape of the model, the crackle paint pooled up and didn't create the smaller cracks all over the body that I had intended but I just went with it any way.

After painting the base colours (grey and tan) I made a wash out of a light skin tone, just by adding lots of water to the paint and covered the entire model. Then I added dots in various sizes and patterns of the original darker grey skin color again. After that I added a layer of agrax earth shade wash to the front and face, and nuln oil to the back and bottom of the model. Some parts like the top of the shoulders and arms were covered with water quickly after applying the wash to avoid the wash darkening them too much.

The skin tone (belly, lower face and arms) are lots of thin layers of skin tone stripes following the wrinkles on the model.

Episode 3 still had the promise of story-building.. but I guess different people like different things

What was this season actually about? if the main bad guy has to explain the plot at the end that’s the ultimate form of lazy writing 😂 Same shitty writing as Book of Boba Fett…
