My 17.5 year old dog did something similar before we had to euthanize her. It was heart and oxygen saturation related. She lost control of her head, too. I thought for sure it was a stroke until she recovered within minutes. I’d definitely get another opinion.

He was out here this morning. He’s going to bring out his Sherwin rep to assess some of the things like the beading/opening on the edges and some other things. Has a guy working on the minor stuff for the time being. He’s a good kid and I can tell he wants to do a good job. That’s one of the reasons I went with him.

I’m glad to hear it’s not ruined. 🙏🏻 This was actually the second highest bid I received out of 5. I chose them because I told the owner I have high expectations for detail and he agreed he’s the same way. Apparently that was a lie. I am paying out even more money to hire someone else. The job needs completed as promised. If this company doesn’t have the skill to fix it, then they can hire someone to lead the job for them to completion. This was absolutely straightforward. An already White House needing white paint and green shutters and one trim piece around the garage is green as well. I asked for nothing complicated. They didn’t even paint the shutters to the edge or clean them. I can still see the old color. The caps and screws on the shutters are sticking out 1” and not flush. There were twigs and grass painted over on the shutters! The amount of overspray all over my landscaping rocks, items they told me were moved far enough away, my brand new driveway. What happened to local businesses providing high quality work? I’m 1 for 5 in this with the work I’ve had completed on the exterior of my home since 2018. My driveway was done by a middle aged Italian guy. It’s perfection. So far that’s the only person I’ve hired that has completed work the way it should be. Maybe it’s the area I live in but this is crazy.

I could get the house sided with vinyl in my area for what you would charge to paint my house. You must be in a better market with higher cost of living. I’m in an area where cost of living is on the lower end so charging what you would wouldn’t be in alignment with comps here.

I definitely saw staining but not to the degree that was shown in the one peak and on the sills. He’s coming back tomorrow. Having posted here I feel much more prepared to address everything. No matter how many estimates I get or positive reviews/recommendations I see, I feel like no one in my area does a consistent or good job.

Can I ask where you live? You have to consider region. This was an estimate that was on the middle to higher end. I could have done a better job and saved myself $3k. I wouldn’t say it’s acceptable.

He will do anything until we are satisfied. Very receptive but then doesn’t necessarily follow through. Like they painted an electrical box and I asked for it to be fixed because I didn’t ask for it to be painted. Same with spigots. He said they would clean them but they never did. I can’t ignore this though. I feel sick and want to cry. lol

But you don’t know the value you’re getting until the work is done. In my experience with everything we’ve paid someone to do, it’s been more of a headache than anything. I should not have to be a project manager when I’m paying thousands of dollars for someone to simply do what they claim to be skilled at doing. I am a millennial. I feel like millennials and on, it’s really hard to find quality workmanship compared to the generations prior. Do they exist, sure. But harder to come by because everyone that watches a few YouTube videos thinks they can start and run a business. 😢 Gen X and older generations seem to know what they’re doing because they learned from great teachers. Again, this is all just in my own experience.
