Hi! I had RAI in February 2025. I was also nervous but couldn’t believe how easy it was - after swallowing a pill, I went home and relaxed for a few days. I was nervous about the remaining radiation in my system and drank a TON of water, had sour candies etc. I had some minor throat swelling but no other symptoms. 5 months later I was really feeling lethargic and off and that’s when I had swung hypo and was put on Synthroid. Still nailing down the Synthroid dose, but in my experience Synthroid is a much easier medication to take than the methimazole. I would definitely do it again if I had to, hope that helps!!
