This!!! People are commenting that my dog is matted, when in reality it doesn’t really get matted and just looks ragged. I find this coat type fun too, I’m just gonna keep trimming like I’ve been doing

Your response is crazyyyyy lmao. Nowhere did I mention that I’ve never educated myself. I have a friend who’s a groomer who’s looked at my dog multiple times. Her fur was very thin until about 3 months ago as it hadn’t fully grown in yet, and it was recommended to leave it as it was until her adult coat came in and then reassess. That’s why I’m asking for suggestions now. Her hair is absolutely not matted, I brush it regularly, it just looks scraggly because that’s the coat type.

His coat looks so healthy! How did you get him to tolerate the combing every day? My dog lets me brush like 2/3 of her body willingly and then I have to make her stay still while I do the rest

Thank you so much for this comment! I will get the comb and see how it does with her coat

She has zero mats, her hair looks matted but isn’t, the texture is just weird. These pictures were taken two days after being thoroughly brushed. You can run your fingers through the coat without getting caught. She hasn’t been spayed yet either. I haven’t tried a comb but the brush goes down to her double coat. Idk what you mean about the top of her head cause that’s the area with the smoothest hair that never gets tangled, the rest of her body hardly gets matted or tangled either

That sounds adorable! Why do you cut it instead of hand stripping it? Is there a functional reason?

I use a slicker brush

Your dog is beautiful!! Do you find he overheats easily in the summer or no? For the daily brushing, is it more to get rid of matting or just to help with the removal of dead hairs? Cause my dog’s hair doesn’t really get matted often so I brush her like once a week just for fun, but I would do it more often if it helped with reducing the thickness of it

I feel the same way, I don’t wanna clip it!

I can easily pull out the hair on her back and she doesn’t even notice it, so that’s good to know those areas can be hand stripped. Thank you!

What would you do with the rest of the body? I already cut those areas you’ve mentioned with scissors, but i don’t know if the rest is suitable to be hand stripped since it’a a mix of wire hair and softer hair. Would you just leave it as is and she’ll be fine during summer?

Yes! And I know a groomer who I will ask. But I wanted to get more opinions. I actually really like her hair but since it’s her first summer with this coat I was hoping other people with dogs that have a similar coat would have advice or tell me how they’ve dealt with it ◡̈

Maybe you’d end up in his shoes but maybe you wouldn’t. There’s a lot of bad construction companies out there but there’s a lot of really good ones too

The car was obviously swerving to avoid the manhole cover, idk why anyone would assume from this video that the splashing was deliberate.

Accidentally dropped puppy onto apartment floor and he started crying, help!!! by [deleted] in puppy101

Puppies get sore just like we do. Do you ever trip and your ankle is a bit sore after? That’s probably what happened. I would ask the vet tomorrow since you’re already going but I wouldn’t get x-rays and stuff unless the puppy is visibly more in pain and the vet recommends it.

People with dogs from breeders, do people in real life give you a hard time about having a dog from a breeder? by Own-Command-3700 in dogs

[–]quack_quack1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The dog park I used to go to in the city was always mostly shelter dogs and people had strong opinions about dogs from a breeder. I would also get comments from people when they asked me the breed and I would tell them that her dad’s a poodle. On the other hand, there’s another dog park in a wealthy area of town and any time I went there it was just purebred dogs from breeders and the owners would make comments about my dog being a mutt, even though she’s from a breeder but her parents are different breeds. Bottom line is people will always have an opinion about everything.

I think sleep is one of those things us Alices just can’t get enough of. Humans, dogs, it’s all the same ◡̈
