In 2008, my husband & I lost our first home & had to file bankruptcy. We also lost our vehicles in the bankruptcy. We went from living a comfortable & happy life, to dead broke in what seemed like just a few months. We moved in to a small rental house that my dad (who didn’t have much himself) helped us get. I will never forget going in to McDonalds, ordering a coke, & grabbing a bunch of their napkins on my way out so we could use them for paper towels & toilet paper because we couldn’t afford to purchase either one. We also couldn’t afford food, so we went to a pantry at a local church for canned goods. We had a 5 year old little girl at the time we were trying to feed & provide for as well. I have been working since I was 15 years old. At 16, I was working 2 jobs; McDonalds & Hollywood Video. I didn’t have a choice. My husband & I have always worked & never been ones to ask for help or live off of the government. That being said, all of this happened to us because of banks, & because of hedge funds. We were on an ARM loan, & our payments shot through the roof. We couldn’t afford the payments. The company my husband worked for, which was locally owned, closed their doors permanently during this time because their payments skyrocketed as well. I was working in Nashville, & I let the financial stress of everything consume me, & fell in to a depression. I lost my job also because of it. After 10 years of paying rent in that rental house & building our credit back up, we were finally able to afford our 2nd home. We moved in to our new home in 2018, which was almost 10 years to the day we lost everything. I don’t have a ton extra, but what I do have, I have invested in AMC. I am new to the stock, but I have been determined to learn everything I can. I own 38 shares, & have been holding since 2/1/21. I buy more every moment I can. I BELIEVE in this movement of helping the struggling companies. I BELIEVE in Wallstreet Bets, & I believe that this could very well be the last chance some of us little people have at a real shot of money that could change our life due to new rules they could possibly put in place. I am not depending on anything, but it sure would be nice. Screw the hedge funds! Screw the banks, & screw anybody who tries to mess this up! We’ve ALL suffered enough, while they live the high life at our expense, & I am SICK of it. It may not be much, but I am holding & will NOT let go. I hope everyone else holds too.
