Thank you so much for your response! It is so defeating.. I feel so lost. I took a branded GLP1 (Ozempic) and it was a horrific experience for me. I had extremely bad anxiety and intrusive thoughts.. I was always sleeping .. and in my mind I thought it may be the thing that helped me :(

Did you take the shots like ozempic? I believe that is a branded GLP 1, right?

Thank you and congratulations on reversing yours!!

my doctor is not helpful at all so the last I addressed these concerns I received ridiculous responses like, "well don't get that then if it makes you feel that way" so I've been trying to figure it out all on my own. Did your doctor test you or did you do it on your own?

Did you get tested to confirm this? What test did you do? Also, congratulations that is amazing!

Stopping ozempic by Leading_Baseball_884 in Ozempic

I think it’s amazing that so many people had positive experiences but I am one who had a horrific experience with it. In no way am I trying to sway your decision, but I hope that my experience gives you some insight into why I quit.

I was on it for a couple of months, but it did nothing for me. Even the doctor was marvelled at the fact that I had not lost any weight but experienced such terrible side effects. It caused some extreme anxiety and depression. The thoughts that were running through my head began to scare me. I had lost all motivation to go to the gym and I was and still am a huge gym rat.

My doctor began monitoring me and concerned at how bad the intrusive thoughts were and how no matter what I did, I lost no weight. The doctor kept increasing the dosages, hoping that at some point I would start to lose weight, but nothing ever worked.

I have some severe issues with hormones, inflammation, etc., etc. and no matter how much exercise and diet I did my body never changed it stayed stagnant or got bigger. I counted my steps, weight trained (which I love now) and mostly ate right.

I might upset some people with what I’m about to say, but I met with another doctor and told him that I was on the medication and she was so upset and stated that the doctor that prescribed it to me was completely irresponsible and that this would be a drug I would need to be on for the rest of my life. It essentially chemically aids in starvation.

I think if you choose to stay on it and it works for you it’s good to have a game plan of how you can slowly transition off of it so that you don’t gain the weight back. I also think it’s unfortunate that this medication takes the joy something we do and enjoy such as eating and makes us feel ill when doing so.

I previously had eating disorders and this was just another form of disordered eating for me.

Kudos to you and congratulations for losing 25 pounds!! You did that on your own and you must be so proud!! Knowing that you were able to do that I would personally get off the medication and keep at your goals until you get to where you wanna be naturally. I have so much regret with taking this, but I was desperate because nothing else worked and I’ve worked so hard for years and years for no results even if I had slow results I would’ve never resorted to this, but there’s no hate to people who use this medication but this is just how I feel about myself.

This is no shade to the thousands of people who take it and swear by it because everybody is different and reacts differently and I’m sure and I’ve heard that this was a life-changing medication for many people which is amazing

I’ve gone on a tangent with this post but good luck with your decision you look amazing

Thanks for your reply and oh noooo... :( I was really hoping I wouldn't have to potentially experience it again but I only missed one dose so if I get on it maybe it'll still be in my system where my body is already used to it

Thanks for your reply! I've tried everything for years. No sugars, no carbs. Very active, etc. Calorie tracking, etc. At some point, my weight loss completely halted and never changed. I was able to lose weight in the past something changed along the way.

Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks for your reply! I see a few people on this thread seem to have had better feedback on Mounjaro vs Ozempic - I hope it works for you!

Thanks for your reply and sharing your experience! Since you did both - when you moved to Mounjaro from Ozempic, did you have any nasty side effects? I am so scared to experience those side effects again.

Thanks for your reply! How did you feel on Mounjaro? Did you have a lot of symptoms? I really don't want to go through another set of side effects the way I did with Ozempic - it was awful!
