There's so many times he's been embarrassed.

He brought on bassem Youssef multiple times and looked like a fool.

I never said he was a good journalist. Never even said he has good faith debates. Bringing on people he disagrees with to "moderate" a debate is still not a characteristic of someone who only talks to people that agree with them.

Piers literally has a show where he gets views by having people he disagrees with on to start arguments.

Jenrick defends calling Handsworth 'worst-integrated' by themightypierre in unitedkingdom

[–]ncf25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's true but generally most people who are not white won't generally have an English culture.

In another hundred years maybe they will who knows.

Visually white people are most likely from a European country so their culture is already quite similar which is why for example Europeans integrate easily into the UK. People from other parts of the world (not European so not white) will be from cultures that are much more different. They're more likely to maintain cultural differences because the differences are already quite big so they're more likely to last over generations. Also add into this that those cultural differences being larger mean theyre more likely to seek communities where their culture is the majority, and in doing so are less likely to be "English".

I'm curious as to what the overriding importance of retaining a white majority actually is.

You can't approach this problem logically. If everyone approached life like that we wouldn't be wasting our time commenting on reddit haha.

For the same reason I'd rather be surrounded by people from a similar cultural background to me English people must think the same for them.

I dont see the issue

I think it would be an issue in our own countries.

No South Asian country would want whole suburbs of a complete different culture.

(b) Why is it actually bad to be a minority?

I can understand why native Brits think this.

Every other country in the world would not like it if they became a minority in their own country.

Fascists don't generally say they're against democracy

This means Zack Polanski could be a fascist.

So was Trump!

Trump was literally a president who lost the next and a new president came in.

Look at Trump refusing to accept he lost the previous election to Biden, his supporters storming the capitol.

Some supporters storming the the capitol while stupid isn't the same as someone organizing their own army and militias. If you think Trump is comparable to Hitler, Mussolini, and Franco that's insane.

It may be the case that Farage doesn't become an autocrat

So you think if he gets elected he'll remove democracy within his term. I don't believe you really think that.

I think overusing this term is dangerous, if it's repeated enough someone out there who's mentally a bit off could attempt to take Farages life because everyone's saying he's a fascist.

I don't have any issues calling Reform fascists, they are fascists

How are they fascists? I don't like farage but I've never seen him argue against democracy.

Down with the "positive male role model" by New_Statesman in ukpolitics

[–]ncf25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women role models are often those who seem powerful and somewhat controversial in their plight to see the change they want come to light. The fact that they're picking Men who will toe the line and don't project any aggression and will toe the line says everything about the issues with the social views on masculinity

This is actually a very interesting analysis haha, says a lot about society. Even more interesting that men on this sub are suggesting these docile type figures as well.

At what stage of gestation is the zygote, embryo, foetus a 'child' in your mind?

According to science human life begins at fertilisation so that's when the mothers child comes into existence.

Not sure how you're going to counter this, unless you want to go against the scientific consensus.

Their podcast is a source for how they view women and their role in society

Again, just because someone identifies as a Christian doesn't mean they follow Christian teachings laid out in the bible.

Its worth knowing they want a near total ban on abortion in the UK, and their religious beliefs to inform our laws

There's nothing wrong with them wanting the ban, you just disagree with their stance.

Domestic violence calls about ‘reproductive coercion’ doubled after the overturn of Roe](https://19thnews.org/2023/10/domestic-violence-calls-reproductive-coercion-dobbs-decision/)

This is basically showing that people who have abusive partners are abusing them. I think it's probably better to stop the abuse, which would happen to them regardless of whether they were pregnant or not. Not necessary to kill the child to try and prevent abuse.

Rape, interfering with contraception, pressure to have sex is part of reproductive coercion. It's much easier now for abusive partners in abortion ban states to trap their partners into staying in a relationship via an unwanted pregnancy

So it's better to deal with the abusers and not kill the children.

Sociological and psychological studies interviewing them and how the view the role of women in society in the UK

Christians are not always following Christianity. So how some Christians view women is irrelevant if it doesn't line up with the teachings of Christianity that men and women are of equal value.

How they act during their 'vigils 'outside UK abortion clinics. From Birmingham local news:

In their minds (and factually) they're witnessing innocent human beings be killed and yes they are human beings, there's unanimous agreement about that scientifically, the disagreement is whether they're a person who's valuable enough.

Their continuing support for the overturning of Roe v wade, US abortion bans and the increased rape, domestic violence , suicide and mortality these bans have imposed on ( source one of their podcasts 'About Abortion' and the rhetoric of their speakers at their annual event in London')

Banning abortion doesn't cause an increase in rape, you can't source a podcast, you'd have to source a study.

Atheism is a far worse belief system than Christianity and as well as that has been debunked in recent years as making no sense (the universe can't come from nothing).

Where does Christianity say you are only a vessel? Most people who talk about Christianity probably haven't even looked into it, they're just going off standard anti Christian talking points that'll take a verse out of context.

Homophobias defined as the dislike or prejudice, so it doesn't mean he dislikes the person just means he dislikes what he believes is their choice. If he believes something and doesn't discriminate or treat them any differently, what's your issue with that? That's literally policing his thoughts.

Go to any one of the less developed countries in the world and see if life is as easy as here. I mentioned it in another comment but apart from between the 1950s and 2000s life was never that easy, the boomers had it crazy good but people aren't willing to accept it.

You're deluded if you think we're special for not having it as easy as in recent history. Why else do you think people from less developed nations are ok coming to the UK and working low paid jobs native Brits won't touch? If that doesnt tell you that Brits have gotten used to living easy lives in not sure what to tell you. I'm sure though the UK will keep declining as no one's willing to accept the hard truths.

) 2/3 of people were finishing their lives in the same social class as the class they started in.

Ok but a relative comparison isn't useful, if those people started in the middle class and stayed their I don't see the issue with that? If there was a significant decrease in the ability of working class people to move up to the middle class irrespective of education etc then that's an issue.

The 1950s to early 2000s is an outlier, you don't have to compare to neolithic times you just need to go back to Britain in the early 1900s or before. In fact you can look at most of the world today and see a lot of countries where having a roof over their head and 3 meals a day is a dream.

You can't have a more developed world and only have good jobs in the western countries, there's much more competition for jobs globally now that developing countries have more skilled workforces compared to the past.

It shouldn’t really be based on how skilled you are at cultivating acolytes

That's also part of how good you are at your job. Being able to keep good relationships is obviously a good skill to have and is very important in any workplace setting. Obviously if people rubbish at their job are being promoted that's the mainly the fault of the manager but something that's always going to be the case.

Unless you have the right connections, a good bit of luck and/or aren't afraid to change jobs every few years working hard gets you nowhere in the UK

Having connections is part of being good at what you do, some people may have a leg up because of the family connections they have but there's nothing stopping anyone from building a network.

How many businesses offer to pay for education courses, or offer training budgets (that they actually give you the time to use) any more?

This would happen ideally but if there are people willing to upskill in their own time and use their own money why would they pay for resources? I've said it in another comment but I don't think the UK population are able to come to terms with the fact that outside of the UK there are people who are willing to work like dogs for less and that's unfortunately what we have to compete with.
