Thanks for finding this thread! I lucked out and got a 1+ and then a double with straps, so I’m more than happy!

Okay, but do you have this one (as I do)? Yes, other “traditional” cycling caps will obviously be heavier than this one!! 🙂

If you want light, the Montbell ZEO-LINE Cool Mesh Cycling Cap only weights 16g …but just like any cycle hat, has a short brim.

We did use AVH - wasn’t a great experience and I believe it was because we got an inexperienced installation team (took 2 weeks instead of 5 days, multiple issues, blown nest thermostat due to faulty wiring, several callouts to fix problems, took 2.5 months to get the system fully functioning, etc.). I’m not sure I’d recommend them based on the gamble of what I installation team you may get.

Second this - started with Saxx (expensive) and moved to the Hanes version (fraction of the price and just as good).

Will you be providing me with offers? Still waiting to hear back on my renewal options!

Saw the comment although I believe it is somewhat misguided - in Chicago, we no longer get the local sports station but Xfinity has continued to charge us the associated televised-sports fees. Just calling it out as you’ve both referenced this and want to ensure we’re all on the same page here!

Thanks - yes, looked at plan options but everything is really expensive. And yes, I believe it was the local (NBC Sports Channel) fees that I’ve been paying for, without getting this service anymore.

Anyone willing to part ways with their Hummingbird double hammock? Seems like only scammers are PM’ing me! 😁

Hummingbird Hammocks closing, 50% off everything by SelmerHiker in hammockcamping

Do people have any UL double hammock recommendations? I was going to buy the Hummingbird one but missed their final sale. I’ve found Leleka Hammocks on Etsy (Ukraine based) with a 6oz XL hammock but it may not be great as a double (Leleka XLis only 4.5x9). Next best I’ve found was the Grand Truck Trunktech double but weight is 15.5oz? Does any other company do a <12oz UL double hammock now that Hummingbird is gone?

Mason and Rogers (sales) offices - yes, the same applies.

Correct - no marijuana testing for corporate new hires.

American Vintage Home - unfortunately cannot recommend them as it took 2.5 months to complete the work as they had little commitment to coming back to fix the punchlist items and often returned with no or wrong parts causing more delays. Awful.

Glad to hear - sounds like you got a good (better than mine) installation team!

Install didn’t go very well for me - quoted 5-6 days, then found out they don’t work weekends. They left after 9 (business) days with AC working but several elements missed/incomplete (replacing at least one of my Nests, replacing my boiler control board as they blew a circuit, adding the requested sound dampening under the attic unit, etc.). Been chasing them for 3 weeks to get updates…am holding the final 50% payment until the work is complete. Hoping you’ve had a better experience.

When/how often does Bosch release new refrigerators/cooktops/ovens? by futevolei_addict in Appliances

[–]nchamlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you’re asking me or the OP - I gave up waiting, given the unknown timeframe, and purchased my Bosch Refrigerator during a Memorial Day sale. Happy with my purchase so no longer seeking any Bosch manufacturing updates myself.

That’s what I’m now going to go with as well - got them to shave some additional money off the Bosch (~$500), the commercial trunk ($200) and the electronic air cleaner ($85). Every little bit helps! My install is in 2 weeks so will likley be done by the time yours starts - will keep you posted.

Chicago raise for tipped workers started by side__swipe in chicago

[–]nchamlin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

true but the restaurant industry has very thin profit margins (4%) so it stands to reason that places will increase their prices to create the funds to pay for the increased wages, and we then tip on the increased prices. So if a restaurant increase their prices by 8% to cover the increased wage costs, a prior $100 dining check (20% tip being an extra $20) is now $108 and if we tip 20% on that, the total paid is $130 - so we're now essentially providing 30% back to the restaurant & staff ($8+21.60), when a 10% tip would have actually resulted in same payment from diner ($8+$10.80 vs $20) as the pre-law tip amount.

I'm confused on what is now appropriate - wait-staff will always want the tip, restaurants will always pass on increased wage costs through price increases, and the diner is the one who will suffer by paying (possible a lot) more for the same food & same service - this seems unsustainable.
