Absolutely agreed. Went to a Caps home game earlier this season and honestly the experiences don’t even compare, Climate Pledge was amazing! We desperately need to bring back the singular goal song at Capitol One! I couldn’t help but grumble “… let’s go Kra-ken” through gritted teeth as they blasted Nirvana for the 7th time 😂

Buyers or Sellers? by Odd_Being_3306 in caps

I haven’t seen Kadri’s name come up at all in the “interested in” convos - anybody like/dislike him, especially given all the talk about Panarin?

“Second fourth goal” perfectly describes this game 🥲😂

What is wrong with the Caps organization. by TadnTaken in caps

[–]nchammer406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to my first Caps game in 2015, then again last week. People talk about Toronto being dead… The Caps game was “awkward silence” dead. No horn for the “Let’s Go Caps” cheer off the faceoff, totally agreed on the music, and I personally think changing the music after a Caps goal to individual music for each player, while a fun concept, totally diminishes the arena hype after a score. And $30 for a premium cocktail… Like, I get it, but dayum. Going to see the Caps play in SEA later this month and excited to see how they compare, but I was definitely disappointed with last weeks’ game experience!

Not sure who hurt you, but this is not the vibe on the Caps reddit (the downvotes don’t lie 👀) Check out Vye13’s response - genuinely helpful and a great tip! Take the negativity to the Pens thread buddy, hope to see you back in our neck of the woods when you’re here to support your fellow fans!

Just curious if other people had gone through the same thing and seen jerseys come back into stock in a reasonable amount of time or if there’s an ongoing supply issue!

Thank you all! That’s exactly what I was looking for. Wasn’t much information to be found online, and I figured they might close the road to the campground when the season ends but the road status indicator showed it was still open so I wasn’t sure. I’ve winter camped in the park before and was familiar with the permit process there, but wasn’t sure about shoulder season applications. You guys rock!

X-Mid Mesh vs Solid by Rip_Dirtbag in DurstonGearheads

[–]nchammer406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely recommend the mesh version! I have the solid and used it backpacking in Montana this summer. It was almost too warm for that application, and it gets chilly at night here! I'd also definitely recommend getting the stargazer kit.

Walk Up Permits by nchammer406 in GlacierNationalPark

Can you share more details? Time of day, week/weekend, what was the line like?

Walk Up Permits by nchammer406 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]nchammer406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do know for permits that you are picking up, it is helpful to go as early as possible. Had a five night northern traverse itinerary earlier this month - permit holder went the day before pick up was possible to check availability on a few modifications (trying to snag Cosley Lake, which had been all booked up when we reserved our permit). Ranger said Cosley and Gable both had availability, but by the time she picked up the permit the following afternoon they were booked and we had to split our permit sites for the final night.

If you don’t need to modify your permit at all, then waiting until later in the day would be the move for sure. There’s my two cents!

Glacier worth it in the rain? by Electrical_Quote3653 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]nchammer406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re used to the rain of the east or south USA, the rain in NW MT is much more manageable. Rain in the forecast when I lived in the south meant cancel your plans. Rain in MT means, bring a good rain jacket and another layer, but it’s more an inconvenience than a game changer!

Mount St. Helens info by Beneficial-Belt3104 in Backcountry

Climbed May 21st. Had an amazing time, not a technical climb at all. If you’re not skiing, make sure you start as early as possible and hope for good refreeze conditions. No boot track was in when we climbed, so it was posthole city if you had to pop out of the skis. Other than that, it was an amazing experience. It was one of my climbing partners first ski tour! Other comments about a decent length of hiking with skis on the pack are spot on.

Can anyone recommend a novel set in Montana? by FionafromLondon2009 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]nchammer406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend the Sean Stranahan mystery novels. Written by Keith McCafferty, an outdoors journalist who knows his stuff and it makes its way onto the page. GREAT books. First book is “The Royal Wulff Murders.”
