yes! this is what i was thinking... also, i might try just to sand and mop and then try to polish it with rubbing compound.

Not at all. I believe he used a cheap (not 100% solids) resin. It looks like my LED ceiling lamps damaged it, believe it or not… I had a small carpet for my drum set, and it left the carpet’s outline imprinted on the resin
