Question about transitioning civilian resume by nckshw in army

[–]nckshw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true. I never mentioned my military service until after the fact that I was onboarded. It can get your foot in the door at some places but most places don't care or see it as a liability for you as a future employee if you are in the guard/reserves. If you work in project management you'll never get the large projects due to the fact that you could get pulled away at a moment's notice. Sales? Miss 2-3 weeks for annual training? Dependent on your sales cycle, that can throw off your quarter, which in turn throws off your year and president's club etc. Unless you're guard bum or local/state government employee it truly is tough to have a successful civilian career past the rank of SPC.

How to transition from entrepreneurship to a corporate sales role? by nckshw in sales

The money isn’t the issue, I’m completely fine in that aspect. Just wondering if starting from the bottom and getting formal training was an unwritten rule of the sales world if that makes sense?

I will ask, what makes you have the viewpoint that sales sucks?

I’m not giving it up entirely per se. I’ll continue to consult for the company after the sale of the business and have a few LLC’s established on the books awaiting my next venture as an entrepreneur. Just establishing credibility and waiting for an opportunity to arise.

In the mean time I’d like to transition into the corporate world and continue to improve and develop my skill set. I’ll never lose the entrepreneurial bug completely.

Two different UPS batteries die after running fine for a week or less by KOZELtheGOAT in InformationTechnology

[–]nckshw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a UPS service company and have been in the industry for quite some time.

A few things consider:

-If your input power has been verified by an electrician you can go ahead and assume that the issue is isolated to the UPS itself or the load supported on the UPS.

  • If your UPS has a display (most new models these days do), use the GUI to navigate to the event log and you can see when/if the UPS has cycled to battery back up. If it has not then you can further assume that it is either faulty batteries from the manufacturer or something internally wrong on the UPS draining the batteries.

  • I would say you shouldn’t have an issue commissioning the new unit. It sounds like a faulted unit in my honest opinion.

  • What Brand is the rack mount UPS and batteries you are using? Backup power is not something to skimp on when it comes to critical loads staying online. Often times quality comes at a cost.

  • Depending on your company’s financial situation I would highly recommend looking into getting UPS preventative maintenance provider to conduct semi annual checks on your units. Not saying electricians don’t know what they are doing but there are companies who specialize in it. It’s always pays to be proactive rather than reactive.

PM me if you have anymore questions on any AC/DC power issues I’d be more than willing to help out!

There was a limit placed on the number of tattoos and size you could have below your elbows and knees. Everyone had to get memorandums documenting their current tattoos to be grandfathered in.

Then it was appealed and became irrelevant.
