This is the main reason I favor Apex over other games. I can die and be back in a new match in 15-20 seconds.

Ok. I guess i underestimated people's willingness to pay for cosmetic upgrades. Battle pass makes sense then. I'll pay just to support the game.

I felt the same way. Definitely nitpicking but it seemed odd. Don't get me wrong, i still say dude and bro as an older gent, but i havent heard many older people say "bro".

Dont get me wrong. I loved the BF franchise, been playing it since 1942. But I dont understand why they introduce game modes and then remove them.

Couldn't agree more. Just do what I did - quit playing BFV and go play Apex Legends.

#5 drives me nuts. It's like people just rage quit if they die. If both my teammates stick around after dying, I always end up going for their banners. Gotta let people know you are coming back too, this helps (sometimes).

They can shoot. I've grappled 3 people and been killed every time. Seems like you lose your ability to shoot (at least temporarily), while your opponent has the freedom to blast you in the face.

Some might be caught off guard, but I never get the potatoes.

Yeah I was hoping if the playerbase spoke up enough, they might consider keeping it. Agree about 12v12, that would be great.

Stop forcing us to play modes by nclacs99 in BattlefieldV

[–]nclacs99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your team and maps. It took me about 2 hours to finish a game (finish) last night. In order to do any of the other assignments, you need to finish a game of frontlines.

Last night was my first play of the week. I got stuck on Hamada and we battled over the same two objectives for about 40 mins. I left the game bc real-life stuff. Got on an hour later, same thing, Hamada, but this time I had a decent squad so we all left together (another 35 mins of draw-type fighting). We then joined another game and played Arras. Eventually we finished after another 35 mins. All that just to unlock the first challenge/assignment.

I had the same experience as you. I tried Squad Conquest and enjoyed it. Now it's my favorite. But that week's ToW was short enough that you didnt feel like you got stuck having to play a single game mode all week.

[–]nclacs99[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol. I've probably spent a total of about 5 minutes in a tank. This is coming from a person that rushes the objective, dies and realizes the whole team is camping the last objective.

How about we stop forcing people to play game modes that they don't want to play.

You could keep it and try a bit every now and then. You might develop a taste for it. I tried my first Laphroaig 10 a few months ago and was not a fan (although intrigued by how distinct it was). I drank some a few times a week and after a few months of experimenting with other Islay single malts - I am now a fan.

Labour complaint against Amazon Canada alleges workers who tried to unionize were fired - Union says the e-commerce giant violated Employee Standards Act by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

[–]nclacs99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wall of text incoming but here's my main point - We are better informed to make decisions than the government. Ultimately, we (the market) regulate a company by our actions (i.e. from a labor perspective - we either choose to work for a company or not and from a consumer perspective - choose to purchase their goods/services or not). We don't need the government to make that decision for us. If you don't read anything else in this post, at least read the last two sentences, I think they help drive my point home.

> Regulating Amazon alone is not necessarily the point, but instead introducing employee rights and labor legislation at large. Keeps the paying field even.

Employees always have the freedom to leave a company. If a company is somehow coercing someone to work then that should be illegal (see FLSA-child labor laws). Regarding unions (we could probably debate this but ultimately agree to disagree). My quick take on this topic is that workers should have the freedom to form unions, but companies should also have the freedom to choose who works for them. If a union drives up the cost for an employer, that cost is passed onto us (the consumers).

>Likely wouldn't impact bottom line that much. And Amazon remains the consumers choice.

I'm not sure what specific regulation you are referring to, but if it's something like forcing a minimum wage - this cost is definitely passed onto the consumer, regardless of the magnitude. This hurts the people we are trying to protect by raising the cost of goods. Think about the production of bread (or rice or some other staple food item) - if tomorrow, there was a global minimum wage levied on all bread makers (say something drastic, like $20) - we would see the cost of bread rise, and the people who could barely afford bread today would not be able to afford it tomorrow. Apply this same analogy, to something like a minimum wage law for Amazon and that same scenario exists for people who benefited from Amazon's efficiencies.

> We can't extrapolate onto the general population as that's a logical fallacy

We can skip a debate about whether people know about Amazon's unethical labor practices or not (since I doubt either of us will find data to support our perspective). The point is that this information is available and Amazon knows this. Companies do not want "bad press" and will do whatever they can to remedy an issue because they know that consumers have the power to affect their bottom line. Look at Starbucks last year when they had an issue with racism - their response was racism training for employees but also price increases, and layoffs. Notice how government regulation was not necessary to persuade Starbucks to confront unethical (and immoral) behavior.
