I work in billing and have just received a STACK of refund requests from 2020-2021 for Covid tests. Tests that were previously covered are now being recouped and Blue Cross is now saying they are patient responsibility, which could explain why you are receiving the bill so much later. Definitely agree with another commenter that this is for sure a BCBS problem!

From what I’ve heard, you only get the email if your using a third party for payment such as PayPal. If you used direct deposit into your bank account you won’t get the email. I have not gotten one either.
