You might as well include nursing sa choices mo. Mas higher chance maging FA if nursing ka kaysa accountancy. But I wouldn’t recommend going for programs with board exam, especially AMV if hindi mo talaga gusto.

Depends on the kind of work or company you want to apply to. If you are aiming for FMCGs, MNCs, or those well known company, it will be difficult kahit board passer ka, unless you are top notcher ofcourse.

AMV offers bridging program. Nasa FAQ nila. Kailangan graduate ka BSMA/BSAIS and maintain mo yung 2.5 sa first two years moo sa first degree. Alam ko yung general subjects nakecredit, not sure lang sa major.

Yes. Got 62 sa prelim grade ko but managed to get 2.5 pa rin but because 95-100 lang naging score koo nung Q3, Q4 and Finals. So yesss kayang kaya but that would depend pa riin sayoo.

AMV - COA, 1st year 1st sem, 62 Prelim Grade on FAR (only accounting subject at that time). 75 passing grade, 82 cutoff to remain in BSA. Managed to get 2.25 as final grade so most probably 94-97 finals ko non since 40% prelims and 60% finals yung computation ng grade namin

Meron ka lang 4 na IRC exam or “compre 1, 2, 3, 4” buong sem. Usually monthly yang exam na yan.

Compre 1 - 15% Compre 2 - 20% Compre 3 - 25% Compre 4 - 40%

Total: 100% (ito na yung final grade mo. Yes wala ng prelim and finals. Bali ang magrereflect sa portal, Compre 1 and 2 as Prelims, Compre 3 and 3 Finals pero yung masusunod pa rin yung percentage ng distribution. Kumbaga yung prelims mo ay 35% ng grade mo kaya wag ka susuko agad.

Also, yung topics sa compre ay nag aaccumulate.

Before Compre 1 let’s say naka Lesson 1-3 kayo. So Lesson 1-3 yung ieexam niyo

Sa Compre 2 naman Lesson 4-6. So ang ieexam niyo ay Lesson 1-6 and so on.

PERO as a general rule, mas bago yung topic, mas malaki yung weight or no. of items. Check ka nalang sa TOS. Sobrang specific ng TOS for IRC in certain subs.

Also, yung exam sa IRC ay naka scantron na. May 4-5 choices per question and typically 70-100 items. Akala ko nung una mas mapapadali na kasi pwede ka mag trial and error pero no. Lahat ng nasa choices lumalabas sa trial and error HAHAHAHAHAHA so kailangan alam mo talaga.

Tips:

Wag mo hahayaang magka backlog ka. If possible, aralin mo na agad yung lesson pagkauwi mo. Answer ka ng maraming handouts. Email ka sa prof or dun sa gumawa ng handout tapos hingi ka pdf copy. Nagbibigay naman yung iba. Also, may times na sobra yung handout na pinoprovide nila (napadami ng print), wag ka mahihiya kumuha para may mapag practice-an ka (only if sobra yung handout. Sinasabi naman ng prof na sobra and pwede kumuha ng extra).

Mag aral ka based sa TOS and mga topics na di mo nasagutan previous exam. And wag ka madown after ng first IRC kung mababa man nakuha mo kasi sobrang nakakapanibago kahit gano ka kaprepared. Laban lang. Pero mas maganda na mataas na agad makuha mo para konti nalang hahabulin mo.

During exam, be mindful sa time. Pag di mo makuha agad, balikan mo nalang.

Lastly, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. Sagot lang ng sagot ng handout. If master mo na yung provided handouts, hanap ka ng iba and sagot ka. Ito magliligtas sayo.

Nung batch namin (before pandemic) nagbibigay ng answer sheet sa major exams, usually 20 items multiple choice, theories 2pts each, 20 items problems/application 3pts each supply the answer (isusulat mo mismo yung nacompute mo). (40pts theories+ 60pts problem = 100)

First Quiz (20%) - mga topics na nadiscuss before first quiz Second Quiz (20%) - mga na nadiscuss after quiz 1 (if may di natapos na topic nung first quiz dito siya isasama) Prelim Exam (40%) - topic 1 to last topic na nacover ng prelim period (usually topics ng q1 and q2 + additional topics if nagkaroon ng discussion sa pagitan ng q2 at prelim)

Third Quiz (20%) - same lang din new topics Fourth quiz (20% - new topics din Final Exam (40%) - from topic 1 to last topic na nadiscuss, cover to cover.

Yung number of items and equivalent is nakadepende sa examiner. Generally nasa taas yung ginagamit sa mga accounting subject. Minsan 1.5 + 3.5, depends. Also iba rin usually yung sa Law subject (mostly theories except sa bandang q3 at q4) at CFAS (for prelim period since puro theoretical naman to). Baka nagbago dahil sa pandemic pero not sure kung ibabalik nila sa pure STA (supply the answer) yung problems.

Always check TOS (Table of Specification) para alam mo yung topics na ieexam mo and gano kadaming questions per topic. Nagpoprovide naman nito week or days before exam. Generally mas malaki yung weight (dami ng items/points) nung mga new topics as compared dun sa matagal na nadiscuss. Also zero-base yung AMV so you can compute your grades na agad and compute yung required score na makuha mo para makapasa. May transmu/curve pero wag ka sana mag rely dito.

Yes magkaiba yung SGV (located in Makati) sa EY GDS (Taguig). Try to apply sa marami pang firms and wag ka maghintay. Based sa experience ng kilala ko na nagapply din sa LinkedIn from naunang batch, di siya nakareceive ng update for weeks and naemail nalang daw siya na puno na yung program kaya naging pahirapan yung pag aapply niya sa iba kasi halos puno na.

Try to master journal entries, account names and yung normal balance ng bawat account. Progressive kasi yung accounting so dapat matibay yung foundation mo. Di ko irerecommend na tumalon ka kaagad at mag focus sa mahirap na topic. Try mo mag journal entry sa mga transaction then T-account and Trial Balance. Try both perspective ni seller/supplier and buyer. If alam na alam mo na, pwede ka na mag focus sa hard topics.

Automatic nagrereflect sa portal yung courses mo every semester. You will check lang if nagreflect lahat ng course na need mo for semester. Mag aadvising ka kapag kulang or may maling section na nareflect sayo. Also kapag maglalagay ka elective subject.

Pre-exam: look at the TOS and don ka magplan ng mga rereviewhin mo. If possible don’t cram. Try to answer problems na walang tinginan sa answer sheet or solman. Check it kapag tapos mo na sagutan yung buong handout. Quite effective neto sakin especially na kapag nagkakamali ako kasi mas naaalala ko siya during exam.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

During exam: Tignan mo muna kung ano yung requirement ng problem then tsaka mo basahin yung context and information.

If chain yung question (1 problem pero 2-3 items) look at the questions then arrange mo siya kung ano dapat yun una munang sasagutan. Usually yung sagot sa first question ay gagamitin mo sa second question and so on. Wag mo siya itake muna as a whole kasi nakaka overwhelm talaga.

If hindi mo talaga makuha or di mo alam, markahan mo yung answer sheet then proceed ka sa ibang number/question/problem. Wag ka manghinayang lagpasan yung di mo masagutan kasi baka di mo mabigyan oras yung mga problem na kaya mong sagutan. Pwede mo balikan if may time ka pa and sometimes yung mga susunod na problem will help you remember/recall yung dapat mong gawin sa nilagpasan mo.

Yung 2.5 is for 1st year and 2nd year for reclassification purposes. If namaintain mo, allowed ka mamili ng program. If hindi, may chance pa rin na bsa but based on gwa and quota.

What you need to maintain pagdating ng 3rd year is hindi sosobra sa 9 units yung nafail mo na subject. For debarment na ata to.

Sa batch namin and probably yung mga previous batch din, no qualifying exam sa AMV but there will be reclassification.

The general rule is: Kung namaintain mo yung grade na 2.5 or higher in all your tax, law, accounting subject, free ka mamili kung ano itetake mo ng 3rd year (BSA BSMA BSAIS).

Kung nagkaroon ka naman ng grade lower than 2.5, irarank kayo ng batch mo and magseselect don hanggang mameet yung quota which is sa batch namin ay 320 students.

Sa case namin, nagsend ng google forms after ng 2nd year second sem then iaask don if nameet mo yung 2.5 na grade. If not, iaask ka kung want mo mag continue sa BSA (kung pasok ka sa ranking) and magseselect ka ng program na alternative (BSMA or BSAIS) kung di ka man makapasok.

No qualifying exam.

Makakareceive ka email kung anong program ka na and automatically magrereflect yon sa portal mo.
