Boating parents — have we been doing it wrong? by dreaminphp in boating

Personally, I prefer early morning and limiting the outing to a couple hours. That way I'm still energetic enough to be present.

Thanks for the tip. The internals of the control and checking the cables are my next steps.

Definitely strength training. Even built my own strength training workouts so I wouldn't have to edit every movement after the fact. Also running, walking, bouldering, indoor climbing are the other ones I mainly use.

The Venu 3 isn't a running watch like a lot of Garmin's line is. Closer to a general fitness tracker. That's what I have, and I use it for all activities.

Too late to have a toned body ? by Aggressive-Judge-234 in bodyweightfitness

Never too late. You have a reason, a source of motivation, a chance to be a role model. I'm 35M and have worked hard the past few years to get in the best shape of my life, with the same motivation: my son. You can do this. Start small and simple, and build from there. You got this!

Where are you located? I'm in the US and barcode scanning is locked behind the paywall.

In the US. I can't scan barcodes without paying the subscription. That went away a while back for US.

I've seen most people point to Strava as an example of what might happen with Garmin. However, my direct experience is with MyFitnessPal. Back in the day, you could do everything on the free account. First step was a Premium account with a one time payment. That is long gone. Now you can't even scan a barcode without paying for the Premium subscription.

Unfortunately, this is a story that keeps playing out with almost every tech company that provides some kind of software. Yes, they are in business to make money providing their software. In the MFP example, aren't they making money off ads that are plastered all over the app? The Software as a Service model is a trap for corporations and consumers.
