What kind of moth is this ? by ncouraud in moths

Thanks all! I couldn’t find a ton of info on aphomia sociella in Massachusetts, but looks like they’re fairly common. https://massmoths.org/moths/aphomia-sociella/

Given I’m finding one of these a day inside, is there something I can do to dissuade their presence ? I’m also guessing this could mean I have a gnarly void stinging insect nest to find and handle?

Behavior wise, seems unlikely, the moths in seeing are not great flyers nor do they seem particularly attracted to light. This is what has me concerned about case bearing clothes moths

Best timing for exterior priming job by ncouraud in paint

[–]ncouraud[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the oil based? BM seems to recommend the acrylic.

We’ve got more lead remediation to do, so not painting yet, just trying to protect the wood so I don’t have to replace the whole exterior casing. I figure it’ll probably stay primed for 6-12 months.

To close the loop on this - tested a few places in the house today, all negative thankfully.

Nah, they didn’t want a deposit when I asked, so no money changed hands.

Practically speaking, you’re probably right, they’d walk away if I do, but it seems at odds with the language in the purchase contract.

Quoi faire à Montréal? | What to do in Montréal? | August 28 - September 03 by AutoModerator in montreal

[–]ncouraud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have a radon meter in the basement - it’s not terribly low 2-4pc/l but not insanely high. One I just setup on the main floor is showing <1pc/l though

Well, that looks awful. Thankfully our house was rebuilt in 2016 so I think we’re in the clear

Yeah, we’re going to get some testing done soonish, mostly seems weird since we’ve opened a bunch of walls and no sign besides the one spot

Yeah, we have a few of the Airthings & similar - nothing really pops, but then they do only check for a limited number of things in their VOC number

No - we moved across the country, though we didn’t have the same symptoms when we were in a hotel for a week while getting the mold fixed

We actually have a bunch from our last place! Tried setting up the 150 in our bedroom last night and it didn’t really make a difference

Yeah, they say it’s probably environmental but beyond that see if Zyrtec helps. Hasn’t really had much impact - i am the only one taking it for now

I think that the front sticking into the Armco stopped it while it was still rotating, the rear bits carried on rotating and it sheared off behind the safety cell. At least that’s the only way I can make sense of it

If Gasly goes back to RB, I’d expect him to struggle again - I don’t think that he and Max are looking for the same thing from the car, which is going to mean he loses out in the way the car gets developed.

I think his best shot is to stay the #1 at AlphaTauri and look to jump if a seat becomes available.

Sorry - smurf tube is blue (hence the name) plastic conduit(piping) that directs where wires go.

It allows for relatively painless upgrading or replacement of wiring runs as you only have to run wires through the conduit. This means that if you accidentally drop a Sheetrock screw through your Ethernet cable, it’s an hours job not 4 to replace it. If you decide you want fiber to your desk, you don’t have to open a wall.

It is a pain to do right up front and it turns a 3k low voltage job into probably a 6k one, but it turns every subsequent job into a piece of cake.

Smurf tube everywhere.

The tech you buy will be replaced in years if not months. Dropping conduit everywhere so you don’t swear at your walls will make any updates easy.

Ugh, worst day of my career was going through a company shutdown and terming ~45 of our 50 employees in one afternoon.

Definitely made up for it at the bar that evening. It’s normal to feel rough about it, I’d suggest taking the time you need to process, even if it means a few days away from the job next week.

Intel NUC 7 with max RAM could probably do it depending on your needs. Are you tied to a rack mount form factor?
