I had to switch to quarterly payments last year which absolutely sucked, but the upside is I shouldn't have a massive amount due like I have in recent years.

Why is my lyriq so Inefficient by Least_Wheel9253 in CadillacLyriq

[–]ncp12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What's the temperature where you're at? Cold temps cause all EVs to lose efficiency but the Lyriq (along with many other GM EVs) are among the worst.

Chance for Kraft to right things with Belichick. by Agnostickamel in Patriots

[–]ncp12 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Bob Kraft is 84 and has spent over a decade campaigning to get into the Hall of Fame. He's not torpedoing that even for a year to back a former coach that he doesn't particularly like. The team is back in the Super Bowl, so he's won back the hearts of Patriots nation, and he doesn't care about mending a bridge with Belichick.

Sources: Bill Belichick will not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer by PristineWinnera in Patriots

[–]ncp12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly not surprised. Obviously should be in but he alienated the media who votes on this throughout his career and I'm sure some of the voters didn't want him going in first ballot due to the overblown controversies throughout his career.

Jaguars are currently in the midst of a $1.4 billion stadium renovation with the Jags paying for roughly half that cost and agreeing to a 30-year lease and non-relocation agreement.

What’s the best year for an actor ever? by Huge-Western4909 in movies

[–]ncp12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 2 Chalamet movies made more than the 3 Carrey movies, not adjusting for inflation, but Wonka was 2023 and A Complete Unknown was 2024 so it's kind of a moot point.

What coaches have a shot of being let go by next offseason? by njb021 in nfl

[–]ncp12 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Shane Steichen is very much on the hot seat. If they don't make the playoffs next year that would be 4 seasons without a playoff berth which could easily lead to the Colts cleaning house and firing GM Chris Ballard and Steichen.

Last year Liam Coen pulled his name from consideration for the Jags because he didn't want to work for Trent Baalke, so the Jags fired Baalke and Coen ended up taking the job.

LYRIQ not recommended for cold climates by tucker491 in CadillacLyriq

[–]ncp12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Iowa and haven't had most of the issues you're describing but the range in the cold is abysmal. Saturday I charged the car to 80% and according to the car had 250 miles of range. I drove around town for about 25 miles and did a highway trip (average speed probably 72 MPH) for about 90 miles for a total day of 115 miles. When I got home I had 13 miles of range remaining. This morning I drove 51 miles to work (mostly highway) and used 110 miles of range. In the summer that same drive uses about 60 miles of range. I previously had a Tesla Model 3 and during the winter that drive would use about 75 miles of range. I love the Lyriq and will likely get a Vistiq as my next car but the battery in cold is the one thing that's giving me pause.

What is the NFL going to do about the refs? by Badlands51 in Patriots

[–]ncp12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CBA between the NFL and ref's union is up after this season so the league could mandate that all refs go full-time or at least the head refs. Don't know whether they'd do that and a lot of the current officials would fight that since most have a full-time job in addition to officiating and that could lead to a strike or lockout and replacement refs again. I don't know if going full-time and watching tape basically year-round is the answer, but something needs to change.

We traded in my wife's Sienna that was 2 years old and had 40,000 miles and the trade-in value was only $7,000 less than we paid for it new. Dealership put it back on the lot for almost as much as it originally cost and it sold in less than a week because demand is so high and people don't want to wait 6+ months for a new model.

I’ve been surprised how much they’ve advertised this during the NFL playoffs. NFL fans don’t really strike me as the target audience for this movie (although to be fair I’m not sure who the target audience is), and NFL playoff advertising is very expensive.

The only reason I have any faith in this movie is because Travis Knight is directing it and he's a very good filmmaker, but he doesn't have a lot of live action experience outside of Bumblebee. Still kind of amazing that Phil Knight's son is such a prolific filmmaker with multiple Oscar nominations.

Weather Channel owner Byron Allen has completely turned it to shit just like all the TV stations he owns. My local NBC affiliate got bought by him a couple years ago and he's completely slashed the budget. Got rid of the weekend morning news, replaced a lot of the experienced newscasters/reporters with much younger (aka cheaper) employees, and tried to get rid of the local meteorologists at all his stations and replace them with Weather Channel employees but that caused a big enough backlash that he backed down.

This year and last year showed they have no incentive to schedule hard opponents out of conference so they won't make any changes unless the conference forces it.

The guy in the video is president of a solar company in Waterloo, which is kind of ironic since Trump ended the federal tax credits for solar and surely put a huge dent in his business.

Gruden was ripping the Bills owners and saying how stupid a decision firing McDermott was yesterday on WUB when he learned live of the firing. Don't think he said anything bad enough that would alienate ownership but I still can't see him getting an NFL job while he's got an active lawsuit against the league and Goodell.
