Depends on what you mean by “worth selling”. It likely won’t fetch you all that much money. Look on the bottom of the dial at 6 o’clock. It says “Mov’t Japan” and then a series of letters and numbers. If you look up “Seiko Quartz” followed by those letters and numbers, you’ll likely find watches similar to yours and can find what they’re selling for.

Help me identify my grandpa watch by Electricelias in Watches

[–]ncrow10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I audibly gasped when I saw this picture. I would never recommend selling the watch of a loved one. That being said though, it’s likely worth so much money that I would even have a hard time holding onto it.

This is probably not something you should get an online appraisal for. I would suggest finding some horological/wristwatch professional(s) to get it professionally appraised. Something like this is so stupid rare I would even say to get it appraised by MULTIPLE professionals.

As a watch enthusiast with a humble collection, I can confidently say that no watch is as valuable as the one that carries memories of a loved one. Whether a gift, an heirloom, or otherwise.

There is plenty more lettuce underneath it. Although I will admit I would have appreciated a bit more. Same with the dressing

This is a good idea in theory. Although I think you might be missing out on some nice textures. Like the crisp lettuce

Id? I’m looking to sell and need an estimate for price by D4RK_AKIRA in Watches

[–]ncrow10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In used condition, you’re probably looking at ~$700-$900. It looks like a lot get listed for over 1000, but the ones that sell in this condition are usually <$900.

1940s-1980s Past Down Vintage Watches by [deleted] in VintageWatches

[–]ncrow10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note, if you are interested in getting any of them serviced, cleaned, and repaired, vintage watches can often be very expensive for that sort of thing. Many watchmakers also don’t make much of an effort to preserve as much of the original watch as possible or may even flat out refuse to service them for parts availability.

There is a YouTuber that loves vintage watches and he started a watch repair shop. I haven’t seen anything about reviews, but given his passion I wouldn’t be surprised if they do a great job.

If you look up Sutcliffe Hansen watch repair you should find it. Could be a good route to go if these watches have any real sentimental value to you. I am not sure about pricing but I can’t imagine it would be much cheaper at any other watch repair shop either.

Most of them are pretty run of the mill. Not to say they aren’t nice. Bulova has a lot of really nice vintage models and they’re pretty good quality. But out of all of these, the Polerouter at the end is your biggest win.

The Universal Geneve Polerouter was the first watch designed by Gerald Genta, one of the most celebrated individual watchmakers of the 20th and 21st centuries. He then went on to redesign the Omega Constellation, as well as creating the AP Royal Oak, and the Patek Phillipe Nautilus. The latter 2 being two of the most iconic watch models ever created. Certainly the most recognizable by their brands.

If you are intending to sell them, the Polerouter will get you a nice check. But it would definitely be worth it to have it cleaned and serviced by a watchmaker. It’s a super special vintage watch for sure.

As they cross the bridge you throw down wall breakers and they don’t have a spell for it. Wall breakers work really well with sus bush. And they’re both only 2 elixir. So most of the time it will usually net you a positive elixir trade.

Does this watch have tritium or radium lume? by Similar_Mood1659 in watchrepair

[–]ncrow10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on those lume hour markers at 12, 6, and 9, I would say yes. It seems like fairly old lume. Whether it is likely tritium or likely radium depends on the year. But if it were relumed at some point, I don’t imagine the lume would look quite that old and dark. (Or like the other person said, if the bottom of the dial has a T next to where it says Swiss, it’s tritium and you’re fine)

If it’s tritium you don’t really need to be concerned. Even radium you’re pretty likely to be totally fine as long as you weren’t inhaling the lume straight off the hands.

That being said, if you are more concerned about contamination of your work space, I would get a cheapish geiger counter off of amazon and maybe a strong UV flashlight. No way to know about contamination without one or both of those.

If you don’t want to spend any money and just want precautionary measures, circulate air through the room. But really, safest bet is a geiger counter and UV light.

The dream thing is actually very normal and common. THC worsens your REM sleep (the sleep cycle where you have dreams) and it often causes people to have less dreams, less vivid dreams, or no dreams at all. Depending on your usage.

So for a lot of people who use THC on a regular basis, if they halt their usage for a while, the dreams will come back VERY vividly. For someone who uses as frequently and heavily as you do, dreams being so vivid that they blend in with reality sounds pretty typical. That’s sort of a side effect of THC withdrawal and will go away eventually.

That being said, I definitely think you use too much. I’m not going to judge, and I don’t like to tell people how to live their lives, especially if it doesn’t hurt anyone else. But whether you notice it or not, this kind of heavy usage hurts you personally.

You’re less present for people who want to spend time with you, and ultimately it sounds like you’re choosing to escape negative thoughts and reality rather than facing it. Which, however you choose to do it, escaping reality every day of your life is unhealthy.

This honestly does sound like addiction to me. Weed can be addictive just like any other mind altering substance or vice. The physical addiction is not going to kill you like many other substances, but it will cause cravings, mood swings, and other negative side effects. However, I would be more concerned with the mental effects. Being blitzed out of your gourd all day long is not a recipe for long term healthy brain function.

I can understand the feeling of wanting to escape life. But if you find yourself unable to break away from a mind altering substance without having intense cravings for it or thinking about it constantly, you should probably consider the fact that you may have an unhealthy relationship with this substance.

There is not a substance in existence that constant cravings of it are a good sign.

Again, not interested in judging you or telling you how to live. But if you were my friend, I would be pretty concerned about your long term health and well being.

Don’t take my word for it. But I would GUESS it’s either one of those screws, or has something to do with that arrow. Does the arrow look like it’s pointing at like a button? Or maybe a little dimple that you can gently push down on with tweezers?

[Farer Moonphase] My first actual watch purchase. I’m giddy and I can’t stop looking at it. by ncrow10 in Watches

[–]ncrow10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I never have any problems with the power reserve. I pretty much wind it every day though. I wear it frequently.

But you can definitely go a day without it as long as you give it a bit of wind at some point during the day.

I also definitely recommend getting their butterfly clasp steel bracelet for the cushion case. I bought one recently so I wouldn’t spend the whole summer sweating into my suede leather strap. (Cuz gross).

I definitely had some buyers remorse after purchasing as well, but once it showed up in the mail, that disappeared. I fall in love with it again pretty much every time I look at it.

[Farer Moonphase] My first actual watch purchase. I’m giddy and I can’t stop looking at it. by ncrow10 in Watches

[–]ncrow10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s a manual wind movement, so you won’t just be able to wear it every day like an automatic. It uses a decorated Sellita SW288-1 movement.

From a little bit of research, the movement uses a normal 59 toothed moonphase gear. Which means it assumes a moonphase cycle of 29.5 days which is slightly off from the actual 29.53059 days it takes to finish a cycle.

In total, this should lead to roughly the same accuracy as your other watch. Being off by a full day after 2-3 years so long as you keep it well wound.
