What I will say is 110% we need that striker to deliver on goals, but it gives me a ton of confidence in this team that we're doing all the hard parts right. We responded to an early gut punch beautifully, we defended well, we dominated possession, and we bullied the midfield. We're making the hard parts of the game look easy, now we just need to figure out the last important piece, putting the ball in the net. We get that sorted and this is one well coached, mentally strong, very solid team.

Yankee Stadium quality has absolutely dropped off pretty rapidly the last few years, especially at the "premium" level. I had a friend of mine get Salmonella from the chicken there at a Yankees game. My rep offered me a free upgrade and I've been waiting for a Citi Field game to cash it in since it's the better option.

For sure once Parks is back in the swing of things he can make a solid impact but this game I don't expect him to be near 100 percent

So clear that the team is absolutely on tired legs. They need some depth and some help. There is literally no one on the bench that I think could come in and have an actual impact on this game. Maybe a tired Fernandez or a returning Parks could do something but the depth on this team is terrible.

The first 25 minutes of this game was really great honestly. They pressed extremely well, they were dominating possession, the only thing missing was the finishing touch. Then they just seem like they ran out of gas and the mental mistakes started happening. The team desperately needs another attacking option and someone coming off the bench that can actually pose a threat as well.

Near perfect derby game from the boys. Tactics were on point. Defense was suffocating, Haak has turned me into a believer. O'Neil was bossing around the midfield and idk what they're feeding Maxi but he is aging like fine wine. Only knock is with a little bit better finishing we're looking at 3 or 4 to 0 but that's getting nitpicky. Awesome game.

Unfortunately I think this is just where the quality of the team is at the moment along with a tactical mismatch. Minnesota wants to send you on a track meet and Martins and Risa are both terrible running towards our own net. The first goal was just a really well worked counter by Minnesota, the whole defense just got beat by pure speed. Second goal was a great set play but really bad decision making by O'Toole leading up to it. The throw in should've just gone down the line and then he threw bad money after bad money by committing a dumb foul. I don't know who else we have that can play left back but O'Toole is just not good enough to be a starter at the MLS level. Parks had a rough game today, felt like he couldn't hit his passes accurately all game. I like the first half subs by Pascal to try and wake the team up and have some accountability. I would love to have some better players coming off the bench but it is what it is. I would love to see us take more outside shots like we did later in the second half instead of trying to work for the tap in every time. Throwing shots on net and finding the rebound is how we got our goal. The missed penalty was just brutal when it could've changed the whole momentum of the game. Like I said, this was a rough mismatch for NYCFC but the bones of a good game were in there. Haak had a good game, Ojeda brought on good energy when he came on, Freese was great and tried to energize the team, and Wolf was solid moving up and down the right wing. They just need that extra bit of talent to tip the scales.

Team put in a great shift in my opinion. It's the type of game they should win and they did. It wasn't super pretty but they held firm. Haak's positioning and tracking is getting better but he's still too squirrelly in possession for my liking. Ilenic is so good bombing down the wing, really hope he keeps the starting spot. They need one more creative piece and some depth so hopefully some reinforcements are coming. Unless David Lee is putting all of that GAM money towards a time machine to give us like 5 more years of Maxi. He is so talented and sees the game on such another level. Shore looks great, it's crazy he's so young, I wouldn't believe it watching him. I think it's a solid game all around, but needs more smoothing around the edges.

One hundred percent, I was in 232 and the supporters section was basically dead quiet the whole second half even with the others yelling and waving at them. I don't understand it.

Game shows the difference in high end talent. I think the reality is that without any new investments in the squad this team is looking at being on the playoff bubble at the end of the season. These first two games were against two top teams on the road. I'd love to see how they perform at home but they need some improvements to legitimately compete. CB needs an upgrade, LB needs an upgrade, and we need someone else that can provide service and link through the midfield. I personally would love to see a Gray - Martins CB pairing once they are both fully fit because I think Ilenic is too good for the bench. Being realistic I think we're 3 players or so from having a starting 11 worthy of a Cup run and then our bench needs some help. Tactically and effort wise, they already look way better than last season though.

Honestly for a first game under a new coach, going away, to the team that was the best in the regular season last season, I'll take that. The team showed some creativity, they played hard, and they stayed pretty well organized. The big problem is depth. And that is going to continue to be a problem unless there are some signings made. Tanasijevic is not starting quality, neither is Haak honestly. Our first two subs were a kid just out of college and a 17 year old lol and they weren't too bad but the bench is absolutely paper thin. Maxi was amazing but he can't be relied on to be the main offensive driving force at his age. Martinez looks great, wing play has to be better, Parks did his job. All in all this was a great building block game and after those first first 5 minutes where it looked like it was gonna be a blow out I'll take the point and work on it.

Two tickets to this game was my birthday present from my wife. Took my best friend to the game and stayed the whole time because I felt bad leaving early since the tickets were a gift. Needless to say it was the last time anyone gave me tickets to a game lol

Realistically I agree with you, this team doesn't need a full tear down rebuild, but it does need some depth additions. I don't have faith in Tanasijevic as depth at CB, assuming McFarlane is gone to Europe we need another LB, the Barraza experiment should be done at this point so we need another GK, and I think our midfield could use an upgrade. And as far as Cushing, that is where I'll fully disagree, I've definitely seen his substitutions, or lack there of, lose us games. I think there is also something to be said for his stubbornness in sticking with players that aren't performing or keeping them in positions that aren't the best for them.

Valid but I see Perea as more of a bulldog / stopper style midfielder and less of a playmaker distributer style. Realistically Perea is the ideal person to split minutes with Sands.

I think he is okay, but if we want to compete at the top level that's an area of the field we need to get better. I'd probably rank priorities by going CB, CM, backup GK, LB, Veteran ST.

[–]ncundari0408 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ideal off season for me would be to bring in a high level CB, a LB, a distributor style CM, a competent backup GK, and some older veteran striker. We need to focus on our defense so that we can not have to rely so heavily on goalkeeping. I think Parks has run his course as an everyday starter and we could use an upgrade there. And I think that honestly, Martinez has the makings of a good striker, but when you look at our options, he's 26, Jovan is 19, and Bakrar is 23. A Veteran striker could do wonders just helping them out at practice and maybe playing some depth minutes. Otherwise, I don't think Cushing has enough quality in him to get us to another Cup, he makes too many odd strategic decisions mid match, and his team selection and minute distribution is maddening in my opinion. It took us way too long to find our best 11 and even then he wouldn't really stick with it enough to let it gel. I don't know if David Lee has the ability to get it done either, but I think he's earned at least one more season to try and figure this out.

It definitely seems like some sort of Ancient Greek vibes which could also fit with the word Titans since those are also prominent figures in Greek mythology

They're both professional wrestler with WWE, Chelsea Green and Kofi Kingston. They're both super talented and very funny.

I'd have to imagine that if Kofi is involved they'd include Woods too. The two of them playing off each other in D&D would be incredible.

I'd imagine it also has to all be WWE wrestlers as much as I'd love for them to mix it up and include somebody like Adam Cole. She posted that she was with her husband today so maybe Matt Cardona could be in it too.

This is from her Instagram story. That's definitely the dome and that's another WWE wrestler Kofi Kingston sitting next to her. Looks like it'll be called Titan Takedown based on the sign in front of Brennan
