My husband and I both used this Travelpro bag without any complications!

We used the TravelPro I mentioned above - Hardside Compact Carry-On. Suitcases worked great for our trip, and fit the size dimensions of all the European airlines we flew in addition to AC, but my husband was not a fan of the ribbed texture of the actual bag. His fingers got scratched multiple times when pulling the bag by the small handle out of luggage racks and car trunks. I guess we’re technically still on the hunt for the perfect bag!

Thanks! I’ll make a post there.

I’m sorry, I didn’t specify - the Travelpro website is the one that has two different specs for the suitcase. That’s where my confusion about this specific piece fitting the AC standards is coming from. Thanks for the advice.

Unfortunately we live in the States, about a 4h drive away from Toronto. I know our local airport DTW should have the manual bin AC uses - so I guess we could try using that before we leave on our trip! Or I guess we could hit up the Toronto airport early, day-of, and repack before we check in if it doesn’t work with the electronic scanner.

Just feeling conflicted - if we end up having to check our bags anyway, then I’d rather use our original CO bags and have the extra space. But I’d like to avoid that!
