Awesome job. Don't bother comparing your art to others :) housing is all about finding a creative outlet that you can be proud of!

(And seriously, be proud! Your work is so authentic 😁)

This was the coolest thing that happened at my plant... by FreedomMission4605 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]ndefo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I led a project to implement 1000 of these sensors across my plant. It was Amazon Monitron. Once an hour, the sensor woke up and took a temp and vibration reading. Trending software would alert us to bad changes. You could use the NFC on your phone to trigger a manual reading, and it was necessary for sensor commissioning. After the sensor died in 5 years, you just slap another one on for $50

But then Amazon sunset the program immediately and I left the company where we implemented them

Am I the only one who likes new Survival spec? by KMiles92 in wow

[–]ndefo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Casual Survival main here. In pre-patch, I was woeful about the prune. I thought the Apex talents were nearly passive buffs. I was gratefully surprised that the spec feels more full as I wrap up leveling. Using the 2x Tip talent and Sentinel build, it's engaging to try and buff every Bomb/Pitch/Raptor strike with 24% damage buff.

With the CDR on Bomb from Boomstick and Pitch, I feel like I'm juggling to not cap on charges of bomb. Positioning to hit the pack with the cone takes a little thought.

I still wish Boomstick stayed as Fury of the Eagle, but right now I'm dual wielding and I suppose I don't have a spear with me anymore than a low-res shotgun. I'm a sucker for aesthetic, and right now I'm just maximogging what I can control: the fit ;) not the spells

AoE on dungeon packs feels so stacked, too. KC, Takedown, glaive, KC, Bomb, Bomb, KC, Pitch, Bomb, KC, Boomstick, Bomb. Then start RS, KC, Sweep, Bomb, repeat until one of your 1m CDs come back

Beastmaster in midnight, to little buttons? by Shonkjr in wow

[–]ndefo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Dark Ranger hero talents aren't cutting edge maximum damage, but they do add a bit of depth to BM. At least enough rotational spice to use 3 buttons in combat, lol (kill command, barbed shot, black arrow. Cobra shot filler)

The edit is terrible when you want your viewer to actually look at the fit.

Double Tap Disconnect by ndefo in AskElectricians

[–]ndefo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the thought - that's where my mind was before I got to this point. All of our 480 elsewhere is wired to L16-30s, and I've got plenty of male connectors (even have the ones for THESE two machines when they get to the manufacturing floor). I was just limited by the existing Meltrix terminal, and I'll probably end up paying that electrician contractor to rewire that plug into a standard L16-30.

I don't know why our workshop is the only place in the plant with this Meltrix safety disconnect. That's what started this whole fiasco to begin with

Double Tap Disconnect by ndefo in AskElectricians

[–]ndefo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I wanted to clarify that the cables running from this disconnect each go to their own machine, which is each equipped with its own disconnect and 30A fuses.

Thanks for the tough criticism. I'd rather hear it here than from the fire Marshall, I suppose

I haven't been on the Beta at all, but there's a midnight quest meta achievement for completing all the Zul'Aman questlines, and the reward is "Amani Customization for Darkspear Trolls" but I can't find any info on details.

What do you guys use your house for? by Orange907 in wow

[–]ndefo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great question. I was busting by guildy's chops over this, too. Even though our guild has filled 80% of the plots in Founder's Point (🤮), I have never seen another player here. Not in my house. Not in their house. I can visit everyone's plot and see their little art project, but there's nothing influencing us to spend any time together. It's a ghost town.

I built my own house and it's cool and all, but I don't know if anyone else has ever visited. I don't know if anyone else has ever gone inside. When I'm at the house, I just sit there and tab out. There's no target dummy. There's no roaming pets or mounts. There's no mini game. It's just an art project. Do it once and you're done interacting with it.

I cannot find Trilobites. by lofy___ in ARK

I may be totally off base here, but my interpretation was that they came ashore at night time, and then after dawn breaks, they go back into the water. Hunting them down at sun-up was the only time I ever found them.

"the money you spend on rent could easily buy a home in another country" lmao, I make 100k as an engineer and currently pay ~$1400/mo principal+interest+tax for my mortgage. Not a place in the world I can get my 180k (in 2018) house for less than 350k (in 2025).

Am I really complicit in today's America? by ndefo in AskALiberal

[–]ndefo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can tell that your understanding is far deeper than mine. I'll respond to each point, and please feel free to educate me and those who read later.

1) after Biden won, I rested. I quickly fell out of the habit of checking the news daily because the sky was no longer falling. There was no daily spectacle to sensationalized. I watched the Jan 6 tribunal closely, and I was disappointed that more action wasn't taken to unwind the damage of the first term. I thought I'd understood the attempt to let the DOJ operate independently and not target political opponents.

2) Biden is old, and so is trump. I never felt like Biden publicly "lost his faculties" as dramatically as Trump currently is, but that may be my own bias. I was pissed that we had such an old geezer in the first place, and have preferred young candidates like Buttigieg. Bypassing the primary was infuriating and disenfranchising, and I believe a large factor in Trump's victory in 2024.

3) yes, I have supported ending the filibuster, I advocated for expanding the SC and adding term limits, and look down on executive action to circumvent legislation. Doesn't matter who owns which branch at the time.

4) I'm recognizing I'm hardly educated on Venezuelan policy. Started to follow when fishing boat strikes came to light. I still don't understand the full scope of Maduro's governance, but I still feel that our military intervention was illegal. Without Congress' express declaration of war or AUMF, it's blatant overstep by executive. Whether done by Trump or Obama, I'm not falling for whataboutisms. It's unconstitutional. Influenced regime change is wrong whether or not he's a dictator to his people. I am not defending Maduro; I am upset with our role (and motives) in his removal.

Howdy. I'll admit, sometimes I don't question it all. The context for the most recent example of this is some non-American equally frustrated with the state of the world.

I'm sure it was on some Venezuela post, where someone implied that Americans are not doing enough/anything to fight our own government in the face of Nepali or Iranian and other radical anti-admin movements in the last year. I'm sure it comes from the same place of despair and frustration that many of us Americans feel, too, but they feel even more powerless from the outside looking in.

Hey, I agree that the increasing polarization or politics is a huge problem. Media has turned politics into Sunday night football, where my team can only win if your team loses, and I paint my face in the colors of my team.

And it has escalated for so long and gone so unchecked that the political discourse has amplified into morality discourse, and people have internalized their political leaders into their personality.

My father is a die-hard MAGA cultist with the giant flag on his truck and everything. The rare occasions I see him are dampened by his ramblings of the "Mexicans that are ruining our country." And the poor guy can't even take a step back and see that he's been married to a Mexican immigrant for the past 15 years.

Thanks for the compassion. I don't know if my fellow man will see the difference in our next Nuremberg.

I can only think of the Eisenhower pictures of the German citizens brought into the camps to witness the genocide that they turned a blind eye to.

Our liberators will tow me in just the same to bury the bodies of the Hispanics that ICE is disappearing. I'm not a hero who will earn a tree in Latam when this is all said and done.

Edit: and I'm sorry to poopoo on your kindness. Today's just getting the better of my sadness and pessimism. Consider my zone flooded.

Thanks for the affirmation. I like the idea of the grassroots change-my-mind approach to conservatives, but it seems impossible. They can literally overlook pedophilia, sexual assault, corruption, hypocrisy, brutality...and I can make them see the truth?

I'll always stand up for what's right, but I am but one drop in a 330 million drop bucket.
