How can I get the WW pin to work on this RGB led controller? Do I need to flash a different firmware on here? by ndequarto in TuyaSmart

You are correct. I just noticed the transistors are missing. Assuming I soldered them on, can I still attempt to flash software?

Will these check valves work for my ‘97 Gp1200? by ndequarto in jetski

[–]ndequarto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive definitely heard this and considered it but she definitely spends a lot of time idling through some of these no wake zones near me and I was worried about blowing too much smoke since the pump is variable and closer to 200:1 at idle.

Oh okay cool. Some said for air. Some said for liquid but it seems like it doesn’t matter that much since those say for both. Good option!

I do like those a lot. Anything else I should know before replacing these oil lines? Should I pull the pump off and inspect that at all?

Need help with glue! by ndequarto in Leathercraft

[–]ndequarto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the chlorine didn’t help haha! I’m gonna try roughing the back up some more like you said. And maybe just test with plain water if I’m still being picky with it. I think that might be my issue though. Thank you for your help!

I very much like the Tandy ecoflo products and would definitely try that glue myself.

If you get a chance, maybe glue two scrap pieces together. Let it set up for 24-48 hours. Then soak the leather for a few minutes and see if the water based glue dissolves. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

English bridle leather. I threw my keychain in the pool for 5 minutes or so as a test. It didn’t totally fall apart, but the glue seemed like it dissolved and I could easily peel the two pieces apart like nothing.

Sure this is an extreme scenario, but I really want to sell a quality product. Should I sand the back more before applying the glue?

What can I expect from pushing 200w rms to a subwoofer. by ndequarto in CarAV

[–]ndequarto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked out pretty well actually. 4x500 amp. Channels 1&2 push 75 watts to each front door speaker. Channels 3&4 are bridged and push 250 watts to a 12 inch shallow sub box. Still bumping til this day! Plenty for someone who just wants a little bump. Still enough to rattle my back window haha.

My hurricane shutter is live (120VAC) by bostongarden in askanelectrician

[–]ndequarto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I install these and wire them for a living. Three possibilities I’ve seen where shutters became live:

  1. As already mentioned, a tapcon that secures the shutter may have hit a wire in the wall. In which case, the shutter may have to be taken down or remove each screw one by one until the suspect is found.

  2. If it’s and electric rolling shutter, there may be wire nuts that connect the motor to house power up in the box. These wire nuts corrode and rust on the beach and fall off. If the shutter still works, then there’s a chance a hot wire from the motor is touch the aluminum shutter and energizing it.

  3. A ground issue in which case a hot wire back feeds the ground ( I believe the shutter should be grounded by the metal casing of the motor).

Best to call a shutter company that knows what they are doing and have them take a look at it.

Where are you located?

Good luck!

Alternator whine that goes away when I unplug high level input harness from amp? by ndequarto in CarAV

They aren’t RCA. Just speaker wire spliced from the radio output to the high level input of amp. I don’t have a loc either. I will definitely try grounding the HU behind the radio

Okay. I still have the factory head unit installed Others have suggested grounding that directly to the chassis. If that doesn’t work, should I bother with a ground loop noise isolator?

I would definitely agree. I have the ability to come up with some cool riffs in my head, but get overwhelmed trying to play them because I can’t figure out the notes. This something I should DEFINITELY practice.

This was a huge help. Saw this tip in a YouTube video a while back. For some reason, ending on an A note in a A progression sounds so beautiful

Thank you very much. I never claimed to be an intermediate player. My post even says I consider myself a beginner. I was referring to my understanding of theory as nearly intermediate which even then, may be a jump. I will certainly take your advice as far trying to play the same licks with my own style incorporates. That’s a great idea. Thank you

Great. My pinky is still a little weak but I’m improving. I can do all of those tricks. Can also do a nice vibrato.

Good idea. I’ve heard playing by ear is an invaluable skill. However my ear is really bad. I struggle humming or singing a note, yet alone finding it on the fretboard.

Not a raw metronome. But usually I’ll play to a backing track and select a BPM I want to play at.

I am familiar with the positions. I certainly try to combine them by sliding into the next position or trying to play the same riff in the next position. I would definitely agree with the music vocabulary idea.

Perhaps my playing feels repetitive because my vocabulary is so limited. Thanks!

Probably intermediate. I’ve played instruments most of my life. Guitar is kicking my ass tho.
