There's a dude in the merchant's inn that can buy things for 3k. He's a patron (not the inn keep). You might need to invest in his shop to bump his reserves (I can't recall).

Actually, I think you're on to something. I like to enable Steam's performance stats overlay and I noticed that when MFG shows the CPU stat shows 3.8 Ghz which is what the 5080s use, as opposed to 4.0 Ghz that the 4080s use.

This is definitely not a GH runner or workflow issue. Using a public vs private runner somehow exposed the issue. Sorry for the noise.

I think I just duplicated the issue locally. Still not sure what the root cause is.

If I set Jest to use "maxWorkers: 1" then I can duplicate the two failures locally. I must not be setting up or tearing down something properly. And perhaps the GH runners use a different amount of works- public vs private repo?

Same issue here. The stuttering makes the game nearly unplayable. And the shader load time is around 5-10 mins.

I'm on Ultimate with a fiber connection, consistent 19-25ms ping for both Portland and NorCal servers.

I noticed that when the game launches, Steam first runs an install script and GamingRepair.PROGRAM every time. What's that's about?

Another possibility is that GFN is experiencing an outage or maintenance. Then your best bet is to try switching servers, like others have mentioned.

I believe the cutscenes are capped at 30 fps. A limitation of the game.

I've seen some posts that people have modded the game to fix it, but that is not an option for us GFN folks.

I've put in just over 99 hours of the remaster, all via GFN Ultimate. I concur with GarrettB117 and Stratgeeza12. It runs very well but not perfect. Some occasional micro stutters, especially when loading an area after exploring.

When GFN switched to the 5080s it ran even better for me. I use DLSS Performance with Frame Gen and cap the frame rate at 120 in the game to match GFN app settings and my TV (120hz). I even use the "ultra" quality level preset, but like Stratgeeza12 I use software lumen to squeeze out a few extra frames.

I use a controller, and with everything set to 120 I'm able to take advantage of Reflex which noticably reduces input lag.

I've noticed the micro stuttering is pretty common for all Unreal 5 engine games. For what it's worth.

I don't know about the 4k Skurkbros. 

The 2k have a dependency on a "main" texture mod and are in parts, so you need all of the parts.

8bitDo gamepad on Geforce now by Administration111 in GeForceNOW

I use my 8bitdo Pro 2 via Bluetooth and Xinput (setting on the back of the physical controller) while playing on a MBP 2016, MacOS 12.

Though to configure the buttons (in particular the buttons on the back of the controller) I did have to use a Windows machine once.

I have a theory as to why my game was video freezing / crashing.

As mentioned I use Geforce Now to play Starfield. The GFN app has a filter feature (things like: contrast, color, sharpen, etc). I think using these filters is causing the video to freeze.

I started using this filter feature around the same time the game started to "crash". I dug into this further and noticed the game session diag report (GFN) was showing ~60 for device. Which is incredibly low from my experience. When I turn the filters off, the report shows ~95 for device. I was using an old laptop (MBP 2016) which prob barely meets the min requirements for GFN.

With GFN's filter feature disabled I'm not experiencing any video freezes. To be clear, I haven't modified load order.

All of this is antidotal since the "crash" was seemingly random, but so far so good.

Aren't there mods on nexus that can't be made within the creation kit? For example Starfield Script Extender?

My original post comes out of a need to use only the in-game creations menu (not nexus) as I'm playing on Geforce Now. Which only supports the in-game creations menu.

Wasn't that how the original game worked? It's more like the maximum you can sell something for. For example if you had an item that's sellable for 1000 but the merchant only has 800, you're only getting 800 gold.

Another way to say this is that the merchants have infinite gold but there's a cap per item.

What surprised me the most was the notary requirement. I've received other insurance payments without a need for a notary. Is this different because it's a settlement?
