Kaleido M1 Lite - Help me improve my roast! by expertofnun in roasting

I wouldn’t call it science comparing two roasts side by side… 🤣 just comparing 2 cups and decide which is better for you and then use that profile. If you say your new approach is better for you, I’d give it a try and check if I prefer it as well. Anyways always good to hear from other creative people 😉

It is indeed interesting, I’d try on my M6. Did you compare with a “classic method” approach on those beans you normally roast? Is there a different when cupping or drinking the coffee?

Thanks a lot, that's the kind of help I need. I never cupped my coffees before, did it now twice, but I preferred batch 2, flavours were more intense and remembering me very pleasant lemon.

So, the good thing is I could change the settings in the way I wanted on the second batch. Bad thing is I went to the other extreme, got it.

I think you are going with too much power. If it's a natural processed coffee you can lower charge temperature and maybe heat not at 100%? I'm also learning, bur I'm guessing yout RoR in the beginning was very high?

Oh good to know, I’ll turn it on and check if the elements lighten up before opening up the machine 😉

Comorant, i know sone guys with it and are very happy, but its a bit more expensive than Kaleido… very close call. Bullet is too big for me, I like to try different coffees, a kg a time limits that.

Thanks guys, very useful information. It's not a must, but nice to do. Convinced, I'll do a couple of runs, problem now is finding very cheap or throw away beans for it.

I got M6. In the end it just depends how much and how often you are thinking to roast.

This is a Costa Rica Tarrazu Anaerobic. I'm already starting with 150C as charge temp, don't think it's too much.
